Description
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Surrounded by fields, vineyards and a lake, the Vine Hut is a large and well-appointed shepherd hut with a king size bed, bijou bathroom, and antique-filled open plan kitchen/ living room, with a cosy wood burning stove. A beautiful copper bathtub sits on its own deck outside the cabin for alfresco bathing, alongside a fire pit and outdoor dining with sweeping views across the farm, lake and Somerset hills. The space The Vine Hut at Thornfalcon Winery & Press is a large and luxurious shepherd hut overlooking the vineyards. Surrounded by fields, and overlooking the vineyards, nature tumbles into this cabin with its joyful nasturtium print wallpaper, textured and reclaimed wood floors and walls, and green kitchen. With a king size bed, bijou green and white bathroom, and kitchen/ living room with a hobbit wood burner, the Vine Hut sleeps two. The king size bed has 400-thread count bed linens and sumptuous feather and duck down mattress toppers for dreamy, peaceful sleep. Marrying a love of colour and pattern, the shepherd hut is artfully decorated with vintage textiles, designer fabrics and wallpaper, and antiques hand sourced from antiques shops, markets, brocantes and souks across the UK, France, Spain and Morocco. The kitchen is the heart of the home for us, and the Vine Hut has all the equipment you need, as well as a few cook books for inspiration. Herbs, spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, tea and coffee are all provided, and we can also supply an organic fruit and veg box from the farm with seasonal produce. A beautiful copper bathtub sits on its own decking outside the cabin for alfresco bathing looking up to Thorn Hill, along with a fire pit, and range of seating options with views across the farm, lake, hills and surrounding countryside. A two-acre lake lies close to the Vine Hut, and features an off-grid, wood-fired sauna and Scandinavian hot tub on its shores. Each are fired up and filled specially for guests, no chemicals are used anywhere, and are available by appointment. A magical experience and a chance to slow down and immerse in nature. Thornfalcon Winery & Press is a new vineyard, press and retreat in the heart of Somerset - artfully crafting experiences and escapes, and vibrant flavours pressed fresh from the land, by hand. Set across a 40-acre farm in the picturesque village of Thornfalcon in South West Somerset, visitors to Thornfalcon Winery and Press can explore its vineyards, cider orchards and wildflower meadows; a plentiful organic vegetable garden and kitchen orchard; and meet its family of chickens, resident swans, and a bevy of doves. The owners and guardians of Thornfalcon, Sophie and Panu, share a deep-rooted belief in sustainable farming, wildlife conservation and the beauty of nature. We look forward to welcoming you to Thornfalcon. Guest access The Vine Hut is situated towards the top of the farm, in its own field, overlooking one of the vineyards at Thornfalcon Winery & Press. Parking is at the back of the main farm. Drive in through the main entrance, straight ahead, past the farmhouse and barns. Up ahead on the right is the Vine Hut's dedicated parking area (look out for the black signs), with a shed that houses an electric trolley for luggage. The Vine Hut is a 100m walk up a gentle incline through the field from the parking area. As many of the areas across the farm are wildlife havens, we're afraid that driving and parking up the shepherd hut itself isn't possible. Check in is any time between 1500-2000. Check out is by 1000. Other things to note The Vine Hut is a space to unwind and relax in nature - keeping with the unplugged vibe, I'm afraid we don't have wifi in this cabin.
