You will be staying in the former commander's house of the officer and cavalry captain Hans von Borstel. The listed building has been carefully and ecologically restored. Clay plaster, wall heating, and lots of wood create a pleasant indoor climate and a special, relaxed atmosphere. The space The house consists of two spacious apartments on the upper ground floor and upstairs. Each apartment features two bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen-living room. Large spaces, high ceilings and the historic interior characterize the character of the home. The converted mansard roof with gallery level is the central common area of the house. With plenty of space, views over the city and a spacious open kitchen, it is ideal for cooking, eating, conversations or quiet evenings in larger groups. For shared use, here are: * a big screen with projector * A high quality sound system * one wing (tuning regularly) The house has 4 bedrooms with a total of 8 fixed beds. More sleeping options are possible in the kitchen-living rooms of the two apartments; in addition, there are cozy sleeping places under the roof. For larger family gatherings, additional rooms can be arranged in the immediate vicinity to a limited extent. The enclosed courtyard is the main outdoor lounge area and quickly becomes the preferred meeting place for family and friends during the warmer months. Large tables and benches, barbecue facilities, fire pit and a ping pong table create a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. A counter with a tap gives the farm the character of a small private beer garden – ideal for eating together, conversations, and long summer evenings in protected surroundings. The commander's house has high speed internet access (about 450Mbps) and wifi throughout the house. Other highlights 🙌 Werben has a very quiet and well-kept swimming pool within walking distance. So don't forget your swimsuits! At the "elbe kanu"-Canuary rental in Werben you can book small or large canoe tours on the Elbe – a short taster tour from Räbel to Werben is also possible. Ideal to enjoy the untouched nature of the Elbe. In addition to the diverse culture, you can also discover a beautiful natural landscape here. Storks, cranes, swallows and wild geese can be discovered here. The particularly low air and light pollution in the Altmark ensures enthusiasm for our guests again and again on starry nights. Guest access Our guests have access to all areas of the house: the two apartments on the raised ground floor and upstairs, the mansard roof and the courtyard with a summer stage. On request, the use of the old vaulted cellar is also possible. Other things to note The Commander's House is a historical building with authentic character. Not everything is perfect or highly polished – but real, individual and with a lot of atmosphere. The house is ideal for family reunions, small weddings with only the closest circle, or weekends together with friends. We love small, personal celebrations: a weekend together with family and friends, a long dinner in the courtyard, children playing between the tables, and above all, time for each other. The Kommandeurhaus is made for exactly these kinds of occasions. Large weddings, events with many external guests or celebrations with an event character, on the other hand, are not the right setting for the house and its surroundings. Since the house is located in the middle of the historic old town of Werben, we ask our guests to be considerate of the neighborhood. Music and conversations outdoors should therefore be kept at an appropriate volume, especially in the evening hours. The grill and fire pit can be used for a fee of €30. Charcoal, lighter or firewood, as well as cleaning, are included in the price.
