Clatter House

Large, open apartment above Clatter Cafe in the heart of the downtown area, less than 1/2 mile from FSU. With tall ceilings and comfy furnishings, it is ideal for lounging, socializing, and sleeping. The living room has cozy leather couches and a large projector screen (cast from your device). There is a bar area and small dining area. The small kitchen has everything needed to stay in and prepare meals. There is one bedroom with a king bed (Feb 2026). A single bed can be set up on request. The space This second-story former recording studio features open spaces and tall ceilings, and seems good for lounging, socializing and sleeping. Guests enter into a small but functional kitchen in what was once the drum room. Its main room is a large, open space with couches, a diner-booth style eating area, a coffee and tea prep area, a small corner bar, a 100" projector screen and sound system. Beyond that is the one bedroom (which was once a control room), with windows facing Broadway. A king bed flanked by lamps and bedside stands with outlets faces a TV on a dresser. Blackout curtains can be pulled aside for natural light. Also off the main room is the bathroom, but first a foyer with storage for towels, etc, and a place to hang your bike if you wish. The bathroom is small, with just a stand-up shower, sink and toilet. The overall impression and experience of the apartment is pleasing, although even cursory investigation shows it is rough around the edges: no trim in some areas, the sound-absorbing wall panels are not smoothly joined together: nothing that should disrupt a lovely stay. The location is wonderful, being in the middle of town, right above Clatter and a short walk from everything in downtown. Note though, if it's a night that Clatter is open for live music, you'll hear it through the floor. You are likely to hear the muffled sounds of the cafe opening in the morning as well. Guest access Guests have access to the full apartment. Guests will enter by walking up the outside rear stairs to a deck, then into the building and up four stairs to the door labeled Clatter House.
