Description

Welcome to our the coolest thing happening in Central Sulawesi...If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, you've found the right place! With the room you get a private porch, clean sheets and towels, private bathroom with hot water and modern amenities. There is Wifi and electricity that works 80 percent of the time, which for Central Sulawesi is pretty high. It has beautiful views. The space The homestay is part of Institut Mosintuwu project. It is connected to a three story bamboo structure where we runs an NGO as part of social movement. It includes a library for kids, office, a women's radio station, two more guest rooms, a private dock on Lake Poso, and a restaurant. It has beautiful views. But the best and most important part of staying here is the experience that you will have. Most people come to Tentena only as a stop over between Toraja and the Togean islands, and skip what has become my favorite place in Sulawesi. The people of Tentena are a bit shy but very excited when people come to visit them. By staying here, you will get to know us, as well as see and (if you want) participate in the daily activities taking place here. It's the perfect spot to take a break, lay back and have a chat with the locals, and take a swim in the lake. During your stay Lian, the owner and founder of Dodoha Mosintuwu love to travel and cook. She started to open the room as part of ecotourism project with the help of her dear friend, Sue. The idea is to help fund the mobile library that's I runs which is still underfunded. So by you booking this room, your money is going directly to funding a fantastic project that brings kids together from different faith and ethnic backgrounds that have no access to books in remote villages of Poso. It's deeply a passion project for all of us involved and of course you are more than welcome to join in with the trips. You'll be shocked how excited these kids are to see these books! Other things to note The house is part of social entrepreneurship of Dodoha Mosintuwu. Dodoha Mosintuwu is connected to a three story bamboo structure of Institut Mosintuwu, an NGO who work with women, youth, children, and indigenous people of Lake Poso in post conflict Poso as part of social movement. It includes a library for kids, office, a women's radio station, two more guest rooms, a private dock on Lake Poso, and a restaurant. Is the building with the globe-shaped library for children, and the hall that functions as multipurpose space for community meetings , events, and restaurant. This building was born as a paradigm shift medium, that together with the long dedication of the local people, transforms Poso from a post conflict region into the land of hope. Please be aware that our rooms are only equipped with fans not air conditioners as part of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact. We try to protect our nature around the bamboo house, we avoid chemicals and minimize the use of power. Due to that approach, we are surrounded by birds ( a lots ) frogs, lizards etc. Be aware that most of the animals are totally harmless. Don’t panic – if you need help just contact our staff.
