Charming Cottage in the Chiriqui Highlands

Our self-catered cottage "Casita Margarita" is nestled in the coffee orchard of Finca Cielito Sur B&B Inn estate. The "casita" has a private entrance terrace, living room with a fireplace, large covered terrace, full kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. The "casita" is ideal for independent travelers seeking private and deluxe accommodations. The space Our cottage is located in Nueva Suiza (New Switzerland) between the towns of Volcan and Cerro Punta in the western highlands of the Chiriquí province. The region spring-like weather and rich soil provides most of Panama with fresh vegetables, coffee and milk. Our 5577 foot/ 1700m elevation (about the same as Denver, Colorado) and tropical latitude ensure a wonderful year-round climate, with daytime temperatures usually around 70 degrees and cooler at nights. The dry season is from January to April and the rainy season runs from May to December. The rains gradually build up in intensity with October and November being the rainiest months. Mornings are sunny and rains usually comes after mid-day. The cottage is next to our Bed & Breakfast. Birding is very good with 12 species of hummingbirds visiting our feeders. We have seen the Resplendent Quetzal in our yard and have a yard bird list of 120+ bird species! Both La Amistad International Park and Baru Volcano National Park as is the Quetzal Trail, one of the most popular hikes in the area are very close. We enjoy our large vegetable garden and greenhouse, fresh eggs from our chickens and freshly roasted coffee from our orchard. The cottage is not luxurious but cozy and charming. It's about 1000 square feet with a lovely porch facing the stream and woods. Satellite TV (Latin America programming), Netflix and Wi-Fi Internet is available.
