Description
Matri House is a restored 1840s property in the heart of Mathildedal, a short walk from the sea and Teijo National Park. With six individually designed rooms, the house offers a calm setting for rest, events, or gatherings. Timeless interiors, natural materials, and garden views combine to create a thoughtful stay in a historic village. The space Matri House is located in the centre of Mathildedal, a small coastal village known for its 19th-century ironworks, artisan culture, and proximity to Teijo National Park. The house dates back to 1840 and has been renovated with care, combining original architecture with natural materials, calm colour palettes, and considered design. There are six individually styled guest rooms, each featuring Matri beds with cotton linens, high-quality textiles, and herbal-based bath products. Iida, Liisa, and Anni include sofa beds for additional guests. The Edla room features a compact kitchenette and can be connected to Selma to form a family suite. Iida, Anni, and Edla offer views of the garden. Common areas include a fully equipped kitchen and adjacent dining area with ample seating, making it easy to prepare and share meals together. Two lounges offer room to gather, while the bright breakfast room looks out onto the garden. Outside, the garden features apple trees, flowering perennials, and areas for sitting, reading, or summer dining. Guests have access to the entire house when booked for private events, making it a suitable location for both small celebrations and corporate stays. Whether visiting for a quiet holiday, a group stay, or a local event, Matri House offers a calm and carefully considered setting that reflects the charm of its village surroundings. Matri House is a short walk from cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. Local businesses include a coffee roastery, alpaca wool mill, bakery, and small brewery. In summer, nearby beaches and the Mathildedal harbour offer options for swimming or boat access.
