Nestled in the middle of nature and directly on the Danube Cycling Trail, our new apartment in Poikam near Bad Abbach is located between the historic district town of Kelheim and the UNESCO World Heritage City of Regensburg. Our apartment is the perfect base from which to explore the impressive Danube Gorge and the famous Weltenburg Monastery with the oldest monastery brewery. The picturesque Altmühl Valley with its numerous castles and palaces also invites you to relaxed hikes and discovery tours. Discover Regensburg – a fascinating city full of history, charming alleys and impressive architecture that will enchant you with its unique flair. Experience culture, enjoyment and unforgettable moments in one of the most beautiful cities in Germany! Not to be forgotten is our historic district town of Kelheim with the Liberation Hall, which towers high above the Danube Valley and is known throughout the region. Further downstream is another important building, the Walhalla, which is known as an honorary gallery for famous personalities of Germany. Also worth a visit is Abensberg, which is a popular destination for excursions with its striking Hundertwasser Tower. For cyclists, the location of our modern apartment is ideal, as the Danube cycle path runs right outside the door. In addition, other cycling and hiking trails, including the famous Jurasteig, pass directly by the house. Train drivers also benefit from our location, because a platform in the village allows a convenient connection to, for example, Regensburg, Ingolstadt and many other cities – perfect for those who are traveling without a car.
