Circa 1850, 76 North was built as the home and office of a prominent Hillsdale lawyer and judge. The Great Depression found 76 North in a state of disrepair. Bought by a developer in the late 30's, it was made into apartments and sold a few times afterwards, but never recovered its original glory. The new owners have been at work since 2006 to restore and preserve this Historic American Relic. Comfortable apartments now, most rental income goes toward repairs, preservation and improvement The space Apartment 1 consists of 2 larger rooms, 1) a dining and kitchen area of 13x11 (approx) and 2) a Bedroom with Queen Bed, a sleeping alcove approx 5x8 with a twin bed and a seating area and a desk/ work area of 11x11, in addition, The bathroom with shower is off of the Dining-Kitchen area. Floors are antique hardwood and furnishings are generally vintage or antique. There is a 32" smart tv which can be used with your laptop for movies, etc. Wifi always.The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and cookware, as well as dishes and silverware. Keurig coffee as well as tea and snacks are complementary. Sleeps 3, 2 in Queen Bed and 1 in twin bed. The twin bed is in a small sleeping alcove attached to bedroom. Other things to note A beautiful park at the corner of Ferris and Bacon, Stocks Park, is nearby. We are in the Heart of Hillsdale,only half a block from the main street and stores, across the street from the post office, police and fire, city hall, a great location for walking around town. We are 4 blocks from the Hillsdale College campus. There are a number of restaurants within 2 blocks, but you if wish, you can cook for yourself in your fully equipped kitchen. The apartment has continuous Wifi, internet, and a flat screen tv which can be used for movies (your subscriptions) news weather as well as some free features and as a computer monitor. Occasionally during heavy rainfall, sand and water can be tracked in on your shoes from the parking lot. We always clean and mop floors before a new guest checks in, and try to stay out of the way after checkin, but if you are staying a few days or a week or more and wish additional cleaning, it can be arranged.
