Across the street from Mt McSauba nature preserve trails for hiking, 5 minute walk to Lake MI dunes with a beautiful beach & a 2 minute walk to watch the sunset. 2 miles from downtown. Wheelway Bike path & disc golf. Very cozy atmosphere with a fully equipped kitchen, bring your essential oils and relax in the jacuzzi tub, very comfortable beds, fold down couch and cot if needed , washer/dryer, relax by the wood fireplace Sept-May, Fire pit May-Sept The space The cottage was originally a log home. Some of the logs have been preserved inside the cottage. There is a king size bed in master bedroom, a queen size bed in second bedroom and an airbed or a folding guest bed that can be set up in the livingroom. The cottage is within walking distance to Lake Michigan Dunes and just a mile drive to Depot Beach on Lake Charlevoix. A new weber grill is available for your use so you can enjoy a nice meal in. Wedding venues are close, The Shanahan Barn is approx 1 1/2 miles and Caste Farms is 5 miles away. We welcome families with small children. If you would need a crib, pack and play or highchair there is a rental company in town - Happy Little Vacation Rentals. During the winter months Two sets of snowshoes are available to guests, located in front closet, and trails are available across the street from the cottage for snowshoeing, cross country skiing or walking. 1.5 miles of trails are lite at night to enjoy. On Friday’s there is a candle light walk and bon fire. The Mt McSauba ski hill (tow rope) is within walking distance. You can rent skis, snowboards and skates to enjoy the beauty of this beautiful area. The cottage is between the larger ski resorts just a 25 mile drive. Charlevoix is a great place to get away from it all - this small resort town in Northern Michigan has an old-time downtown shopping district, the area's only working drawbridge, and breathtaking sunsets over Lake Michigan. Coffee shops, gourmet restaurants, outdoor concerts in the park, sailing and fishing charters, ice cream and fudge shops, are all within a short distance of the cottage. There’s a lakeside bike trail that runs 20 miles along Lake Michigan to Petoskey and beyond, and numerous options for golfers. Traverse City and Mackinac Island are easy day trips. In the winter months, you can get away from it all or take a day trip to Boyne for some skiing. Enjoy the wood fireplace during the winter months. Charlevoix offers event throughout the year. Charter Fishing available - Whitecap Charters, Ward Brothers A new app that is available for your smartphone "Life In Charlevoix" gives lots information about the great small town. The Charlevoix Country Club and the Municipal Golf Course and available for golfing within 1 mile of the cottage. The cottage is within the Charlevoix Township which has a short term rental ordinance that must be followed.
