Walk along the river, hire a rowing boat and visit the castle ruins in Knaresborough. 16 miles. Enjoy a brewery tour in Masham, two different breweries to choose from. 4.5 miles It is a perfect romantic getaway for adults seeking a pet-free cottage. For foodies, there is a Michelin dining venue at nearby 5* Grantley Hall, fine dining at Swinton Park, and two excellent pubs for good quality bar food in two neighbouring villages. Many of these need reservations and we would be delighted to share our recommendations. Churchby Cottage is relatively new to Airbnb but has been run as a successful holiday let for some years. It is semi-detached & stone-built, decorated in a cottage style; antique prints adorn the walls, the stairs are steep and wonky, there is a wood-burning stove, the furnishings are high quality and there is bookcase with a selection of books & games. There is a Panasonic Amazon Fire smart tv and you are welcome to sign in to your own streaming services during your stay. The cottage has a lovely, cosy atmosphere, with beams and the odd low doorway - watch your head! The dining kitchen features a dishwasher, modern induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge, plus Dualit kettle & toaster. We have chosen high quality china to make dining at home pleasurable - whether it be breakfast or dinner. Two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king size bed with a firm, pocket-sprung mattress. The smaller bedroom has a single bed with a softer, pocket-sprung mattress, perfect for escaping a snoring partner! We use crisp, white, hotel standard bedlinen and feather filled pillows and duvets. We supply a welcome pack that includes tea, coffee and milk. We also provide dishwasher detergent and washing up liquid. The upstairs bathroom is modern with a Grohe shower over the bath. Outside there is private, walled courtyard garden. Parking is on-street and there is always plenty of spaces in the evening. There is a village shop and a highly regarded butchers too. We provide a welcome pack that contains lactose, gluten and nuts that may not be suitable for people with allergies. 2. This G2 Listed cottage dates back to the 1700s and features some low doorways and some steps up / down on the ground floor. The original stairs are steep and the treads are smaller / shorter than found on modern stairs. As such, this cottage may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. 3. The kitchen has an induction hob and these can interfere with heart pace makers Some other useful info: We supply some logs to start you off in the cooler months. We can supply additional bags of logs for a small fee but we must be advised in advance with adequate notice. (We need to make sure we have logs cut to the correct size to fit.) There is a cafetière as well as the Nespresso pod coffee machine for coffee. The cottage benefits from super fast fibre broadband. There is a fantastic village shop and also a superb butchers selling local produce as well as a selection of artisan ready meals. Between the two, you can pretty much get everything you need!
