Ground floor suite in detached home

Our house is a few minutes' walk from the centre of Shepton Mallet. Our guest suite is light and airy and can accommodate up to four people (six with sofa bed). It is located downstairs in our house and comprises a large bedroom with double bed, sofa bed, table, chairs, TV and DVD player, a smaller double bedroom with TV and DVD player, a bathroom and kitchen. Both bedrooms have recently been decorated. The space Our house is unusual in that downstairs is almost a self-contained dwelling - we think this may well have been the case in the past. We live upstairs and use the same front door. Please note that there are three external stairs to access the house and five internal stairs to access the bedrooms of the guest suite. Our garden is on the first floor (17 internal stairs to the back door, then another few steps in the garden itself)., We have a hot tub which may be available on request. We also have both gas and charcoal BBQs, which can be made available on request. You will have sole use of your bathroom, which has a large shower, toilet and sink. Towels will be provided for your use. You also have a fully-equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. The washing machine and tumble dryer, which we also use, are located in the downstairs kitchen. These can also be made available for your use on request. Each of the downstairs bedrooms has a TV, Sky box and DVD player. We also have a large selection of DVDs. Please note that we have three cats who roam the house and garden. It will be possible, with some notice, to keep the cats out of the guest rooms for a period of time before your arrival, and the rooms will be cleaned and fresh linens and towels provided (of course). However, I cannot guarantee that the rooms nor the hallway will be dander-free. The house is easy walking distance from a range of shops, including Aldi and Tesco. Though not frequent, there are bus service to and from both Bath and London. Guest access Downstairs bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, upstairs garden. During your stay We should normally be around when people are staying - we will provide contact details if we go out. Other things to note On street parking is available nearby and there is a (pay and display) public car park a couple of minutes' walk from the house. The house is on a road which provides access to other residential areas, so some traffic does go by. Apart from this, the area is relatively quiet. The guest rooms have double glazing which blocks out most exterior noise. The town centre, with a range of restaurants and takeaways, is a short walk away. Collett Park is worth a look, as is Shepton Mallet prison - now closed, but guided and self-guided tours are available. The Bath and West Showground is just outside town (unfortunately, there is no safe pedestrian route, so you will need a car) and the Strawberry Line, a mixed use path linking Shepton Mallet with Clevedon on the coast, is nearing completion. Kilver Court has beautiful gardens which can be visited and also feautures some high end shops, such as the Mulberry Factory outlet. Glastonbury isn't far away and there is a bus from Shepton, though like many of the buses in Somerset, not a particularly regular service. Wells is close by and has a magnificent Cathedral as well as a bustling High Street and twice weekly market. Clarks Shopping Village is a little further away in Street.
