Description
Located in Arrábida, 40 minutes from Lisbon the house is just next to a small village; the village of Portela. It is a place of great tranquillity, in close contact with nature, where peace and silence are ever-present. Likewise, you can visit the two nearest villages, Piedade and São Pedro. A little further away, 5 km from here, is Azeitão, a village full of history, charm, and traditions. The space Panorama House is located in the Arrábida Natural Park, 35–45 minutes from Lisbon. It is spread over two floors: on the first floor, there is a large living and dining room facing south, bathed in natural light from large windows that enhance contact with nature. The living room has direct access to the grounds and swimming pool via spacious verandas, offering stunning views. There is also access to the fully equipped kitchen and the bedroom areas. There is a suite with a double bed and private bathroom, and two spacious bedrooms—one with two single beds and another with three beds—both served by a large bathroom. On this floor, there is also a small bathroom in the interior hallway for use when coming in from the pool. From the interior hall, which also has direct access to the pool, you can go down to the lower floor, where you arrive at a large hallway leading to the main entrance of the house. From here, you can enter the television, music, and piano room, a corridor leading to a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom, and a fifth, smaller bedroom with a single bed. This area, due to its temperature, is ideal for relaxing in the summer and is also useful for children, who will find various forms of entertainment here, especially in the garage, where there are several bicycles and a ping-pong table. The house is equipped with air conditioning in every room. Outside, adjacent to the outdoor dining area situated under a porch, there is a leisure space and a large lawn. On the west side of the house is the swimming pool, which is surrounded by a wooden fence to increase safety for children who cannot swim. Thanks to a recent renovation, the area around the pool offers a unique setting, with views of the Arrábida mountains to the south, the sea visible to the west beyond a long stretch of pine forest, and Lisbon glimpsed to the north—silent, yet ever-present with its twinkling lights, particularly visible on warm summer nights. Outside, in addition to the 9.60 x 4.50 metre pool, there is a large trampoline, especially protected against falls with a nylon net. Four adult bicycles and two children’s bicycles are available for excursions in the surrounding area. It is a place of great tranquillity, in close contact with nature, where peace and silence prevail. There are many dirt tracks throughout the valley, perfect for exploring on foot or by bicycle. You can also visit the three nearest villages: Portela, Piedade, and São Pedro. A little further away, 5 km from the house, is Azeitão, a village rich in history and traditions. Wine, cheese, and convent sweets are part of its identity. Be sure to visit the church, the José Maria da Fonseca wine cellars, and the Quinta da Bacalhoa or Alcubre; the experience is well worth it. Nearby is Sesimbra (11 km), a fishing town nestled between the slopes of the mountains and the sea, with its fine sandy beach and calm waters. Its restaurants, specialising in fresh fish and seafood, come highly recommended. To the south, and clearly visible from the house, is the Arrábida mountain range, a candidate for World Heritage status. On its southern side, about 11 km away, you will find Portinho da Arrábida, Creiro, and Galapinhos—beaches with calm, crystal-clear waters. On its slopes stands the Convent, built in the 16th century, a fine example of integration into nature, inviting contemplation and retreat. Another recommended route is to the city of Setúbal (20 km), with its churches and historic houses. From its port, ferries depart for Troia and Comporta, often accompanied by a group of dolphins. Two routes can be taken: one through the mountains with breathtaking views, and another via Azeitão along the main road. In addition to the beaches mentioned—Portinho da Arrábida, Sesimbra, Troia, and Comporta—the Praia do Meco, with its size and beauty, is a wild spot worth visiting. In some of these places, there are several schools for diving, surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. For those with other interests, such as golf, there are courses nearby: Quinta do Peru (8 km), Troia (30 km), and Aroeira (27 km). Horse riding enthusiasts will find equestrian centres within 10 km. If you wish to practise or take surfing lessons, head to the beaches of Costa da Caparica (35 minutes away); meanwhile, windsurfing is already king at the Lagoa de Albufeira near Alfarim. Finally, you can always visit Lisbon, a wonderful and cosmopolitan city which, although less than an hour away, is far enough to preserve all the serenity of Panorama. Getting around A car is necessary. Registration Details 56767/AL
