The estate’s entire collection of havens is presented for your immersion, crafted to meet every facet of the soul: Māra holds the garden’s light, where sun filters like whispered gold. Rōaroa offers the deep stillness found beneath the forest canopy. Ngahere hums with the pulse of the forest floor, a place for laughter or quiet reflection. Whenua opens to the valley, where sunsets spill across the floor, grounding you in the land’s embrace. Kapua lifts you gently, drifting with the clouds and the soft, changing light of evening. Rangi opens to the sky above, a calm and open space that invites profound clarity. Nourishment A commercial fridge and freezer are provided to hold your provisions with ease. Practicalities Laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer) are available for your convenience, along with shared bathrooms across the house. Private Arrangements Should you require culinary artistry, we can connect you with skilled local caterers by prior arrangement. Guest access Guests have access to their private room, along with the shared communal spaces of the house — including the lounge and dining areas, designed for slow mornings and unhurried evenings. You are also warmly welcome to wander the wider estate grounds: gardens, outdoor seating corners, and the gentle bush-edge tracks that surround Onetai and invite quiet exploration. On-site parking is available, and having a vehicle is strongly recommended, as there is no public transport servicing the property. For guests staying three nights or more, airport transfers from Auckland, Hamilton, or Tauranga may be possible by prior arrangement (a koha toward fuel is appreciated). If you would like a local guide, or assistance with transport during your stay, this can also be arranged in advance. Other things to note Onetai Estate is a quiet sanctuary designed for rest, reflection, and connection with the land. It is best suited to guests seeking calm, nature, and unhurried space rather than late-night noise or party-style stays. Bathrooms at the estate are shared, and part of the Onetai experience is the gentle rhythm of co-existence — birdsong in the morning, stillness at night, and the presence of the bush close by. Onetai holds multiple rooms across the property, and we’re often able to welcome guests travelling together.
