Our cozy cottage is a contemporary 2-bedroom home with an airy living room and open-floor kitchen & dining. It comes with a large open-deck and two playful attics. Accommodation Overview: - Perfect for large families and friends - Living room with large comfortable sofas - Fully equipped kitchen+dining. This is self-catered accommodation - Bedroom-1 has a king-size bed and a queen-size bed in the attic - Bedroom-2 has a king-size bed - 2 full bathrooms attached to bedrooms - Attic-over-the-kitchen offers sofa-beds for 2 more guests - Entire home gives you the panoramic plantation views with tall glass windows - Max guests: 8 - Pets are not allowed Outdoor Living: - Large Open-deck overlooking plantations and hills - Outdoor furniture is provided - One balcony overlooking the road - Surrounded by lush green trees and plants Food - Self-catered accommodation. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking - We will provide you a contact, who delivers food from Yercaud. He usually delivers on weekends. However, we can't guarantee this contact takes order all days and times. - Nearby restaurants are accessible in 10-15 min drive (6kms+) Amenities: - Gas-stove, Microwave Oven - Essential cookware & tableware - Basic groceries - Refrigerator - Ceiling and pedestal fans - Bath soap and shampoo - Water heater - Wi-fi, External CCTV coverage - Invertor power back-up - Dedicated workspace - Few boardgames Not provided: - Food - Towels (for better hygienic reasons) - Laundry - Television, Iron, Safety locker - Air conditioner/Heating - Driver accommodation Location and Accessibility: - Located in Pelathur, a quiet village 10km from Yercaud lake (15-20 min). 6km from Pagoda point (10-15 min) - 13 km from Kuppanur village (30-40 mins) - Direct access from main road - 25 steps to get down. No ramps/elevators - Roadside parking space - Being hilly terrain, the outdoor space has uneven contours and levels. Very young children and elderly people should not be left unattended in the outdoors. Neighbourhood: - Mini-shops in Pelathur (100m) and Kottachedu (2 km) for essentials - House --> Pagoda point (6 km) --> Peeku Park (+1 km) --> Sky Park (+1 km) --> Yercaud lake (+2km) - Lake --> Shervaroy Temple (6 km) - Loop road: Lake --> Cauvery Peak --> Lake (32km) - Restaurants starts from 6th km - A small shop in the Pelathur Village (just 3 mins walk) sells basic groceries and items such as milk, dosa batter, essential groceries, water bottle, soap, coffee/tea powders, toothpaste, shampoos etc. Another village (Kottachedu 2km) has few more shops too. Wi-fi and Phone signal: - A decent bandwidth wi-fi is available at the house. We will share the password with you. As it is remote place, we cannot guarantee the availability of wi-fi all times. Please keep this in mind - Cell phone signals may or may not be available inside the property. No Smoking: Respect our "no smoking" rules inside home. This includes the use of tobacco, e-cigarettes, etc. Electrical Power: - As it is remote place, electrical power may go out any time (short time or much longer too). We have installed a high-capacity invertor/UPS that powers few lights and fans for 8 hours. Water heater will not work when operating on invertor. Drinking water - We keep few packaged water bottles on your arrival. We request you to purchase 5 or 10 ltr packaged water cans from the town or on the way. Mosquitoes, Insects and Animals: - As the house is located inside the forest, Keep the doors (esp. after evenings) and windows closed to avoid attracting insects towards the lights inside house. - Windows are provided with Mosquito/insect nets that you can extend keeping the window open - You may see animals like dogs, cats, monkeys, squirrels, insects like houseflies, spiders, butterflies, bugs, some reptiles, and birds. Do not feed them or provoke them. Always move around in the night with lights on. Do not step into the plantations during rains or after sunset. ID Cards: - Copy of ID cards of all guests are required at check-in as per regulation. It can be submitted to the caretaker. Guest access Guest has full access to home. Note: Some storage of wardrobe and kitchen cabinets may have been locked by the host. Host may have stored their personal things. Guest can access other parts that are unlocked. Other things to note Standard house rules: - Cleanliness: Do not leave the house in a state that requires excessive or deep cleaning (unwashed dishes, soiled floors & carpets, stains on sofas, water spillage, etc.) - Litter/Garbage: Dispose the trash in trash bags and be mindful of excessive amounts of trash. Please keep the trash bags in the front foyer for us to collect. Do NOT throw the trash bags outside. - Damage: When you cause damage that is beyond normal wear and tear, we expect you to inform us of the damage as soon as possible and work with us to find a reasonable solution. - Approved guests: You should respect the approved number of guests and should ask us if you are unsure about the rules for more visitors. Disruptive gatherings are always prohibited. - Check-in/Check-out time: Check-in starts 2pm. Keep us informed of estimated time of arrival. Please complete the checkout including key return by 11am. We can be flexible if informed ahead. - Smoking: Respect our "no smoking" rules inside home. This includes the use of tobacco, e-cigarettes, etc. You are responsible for compliance with applicable laws. Do not throw any cigarette-buds or matchstick into woods due to extreme fire hazard - Approvals for pets: Pets are not allowed in this house. Please talk to us on this. - Noise: Do not disturb the surrounding community with a disruptive level of noise (loud music, shouting, slamming doors, etc.). - Commercial film and photography: Commercial Film or photography without prior permission from us is not allowed.
