Vermont Hillside Garden Cottage
Description
Cozy converted artists’ studio, tucked in the hills at the end of a country road. Open the French door to views of a sprawling garden and rolling fields, alight with fireflies in the spring and bursting with color in the fall. Warm yourself by the wood burning stove after winter fun or unwind with a local microbrew by the fire pit, listening to the Whippoorwills on a summer evening. Beautiful in all seasons, this modern, comfy cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all. The space This spacious studio has a Tuft & Needle (OEKO-TEX, GreenGuard Gold, and CertiPUR-US certified) queen-sized bed, living area with wood burning stove, kitchenette and dining area (table seats 4-6), and separate bathroom with a shower stall (that has easy access, but is on the narrow side). The couch pulls out to a full-sized bed. The space is best-suited for two people. Please note, we do not provide a television, although streaming services can be accessed via WiFi if you bring your own device. The queen bed is on a frame that is low to the ground, so it may not be ideal for older guests. The kitchen is well-stocked with a two-burner cooktop (but no oven), small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, pots and pans, plates, bowls, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils. We use only non-toxic cleaning products. You'll have lots of privacy as the studio is a good distance (~30 yards) from the main house, which is blocked from view by a row of lilac bushes. There are high ceilings and lots of windows with views of the garden and the valley. Walk out your door to the lovely garden and enjoy the hammock in our stand of mature apple trees. Our country road is great for short walks (past stone walls and pastures), and there are beautiful wooded trails for walking or snow-shoeing just a quarter-mile down the road. We recommend all-wheel drive vehicles for anyone visiting in winter as you must take several dirt roads and navigate a driveway that is steep and long to get to the cottage. Guest access Private cottage parking area can accommodate two cars. There are Adirondack chairs exclusively for your use overlooking the garden and the fire pit. The studio includes a full library of books to peruse during your stay. Instant Pot available upon request.
