Bracken Retreat is the tranquil piece of Tasmania you are coming to visit. The contemporary tiny home is nestled in the idyllic hills between the famous Derwent Valley and Central Highlands, with panoramic views of the valley below, you will begin to feel rested before you even get out of your car. Bracken Retreat guarantees the privacy and peaceful seclusion expected with this style of Tasmanian rural retreat, yet located only 25 minutes drive from Hobart City. The space Bracken Retreat is a unique 1 bedroom tiny home with a quality fitout. Nestled high on a hill, in fields of Bracken ferns, the luxurious outdoor bath is a welcome feature, along with the fire pit to enjoy sunset drinks and views by. We also provide a modern kitchen, with window bench eating, bathroom with european style laundry, TV with streaming. The landscaped outdoor area ‘extends’ the living space, which has a flexible sunshade for alfresco dining, an outdoor bath and fire pit overlooking the valley. Guest access Bracken Retreat is located on a private acreage property. You will drive past our private home to get to the retreat, which is clearly signed and located up the hill, and visually and spatially completely separated from any other property. Once you’re there, you have complete privacy to enjoy and relax the space. Other things to note 25 minutes drive from downtown Hobart (35 minutes from Hobart Airport), a weekend at Bracken Retreat will give you easy access to some of Southern Tasmania’s most delightful tourism offerings – from day walks at the famous Mt Field National Park (30mins); to lunch at 'The Agrarian Kitchen' the 2024 Australian restaurant of the year (10mins), or lunch and art at Mona (15mins); wine tasting in the Coal River Valley (20 mins), or antiques shopping in New Norfolk. For those chasing the best outdoor activities Tasmania can offer, there is Mountain Biking at Maydena Bike Park (40 mins), the fly fishing Mecca that is the Tyenna River (30mins), or death defying caving at Junee Caves (be careful!), and Lake Pedder isn’t too far away.
