The Bird Hide, a safari style cabin nr. Aberaeron

Our treehouse inspired, safari style, cabin is tucked away in a hedgerow at the front of our smallholding and sits elevated over a country lane and acres of Aeron Valley countryside. Our smallholding is an 8 minute drive to Aberaeron and the Cardigan Bay coastline. Within a 10 minute walk is the newly refurbished Ty Glyn Hotel with its stylish new restaurant (serving breakfast, lunch and dinner) and cosy bar. The space With fantastic countryside views, our studio cabin features a sitting area with sofa, coffee table, dining area with bench seating, compact log burner and a small kitchenette where you can make simple meals. The Bird Hide is our most sustainable build yet. It has been made by local craftsmen using traditional round wood and square cut timber framing techniques. All the wood for the frame, cladding and worktops/tabletops has been milled within 17 miles of us. The slate hearth, pine flooring and arched doors are reclaimed from local properties. The walls, floor and ceiling are stuffed full of sheep’s wool insulation making the cabin cosy and warm with little energy requirements. The kitchenette has a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge (with freezer compartment) and contains basic crockery and cutlery. The bedroom area features a double bed with memory foam mattress with an en-suite shower room and toilet. There are two covered balconies facing into the fields and the country lane. Outside there is a semi private decked sitting area with armchairs. The cabin is heated by an electric thermostatic radiator (powered with 100% renewable energy) and a small log burner that sits on the kitchenette counter. We provide a basket of kindling and eco / sawdust logs to start you off. There is WiFi with speeds of up to 30mbs but the cabin is also a great place to switch off from the world too. Guest access The Bird Hide is a semi-private, self-contained building with its own entrance, verandah, deck area and views out to open countryside. It sits on a hill at the front of our smallholding and is accessed from a yard shared with our other listings The Dairy Shed and The Pig Let. There is enough space between buildings for each one to feel private.
