Close to scenic trails, lakes, golf courses, and fishing spots, this little A-frame is a wonderful place for solitude and a safe haven to recharge—or for spending quality time with family and friends. Listen to the quiet of the woods, soak in the hot tub, or watch the fire crackle; slow down and savor the moment. A peaceful escape from everyday life awaits you year-round. The space The DeerFox Cottage is a cozy 840-sq-ft A-frame located in extremely quiet neighborhood and designed for cozy, connected stays. 🌲set on 1.5 private acres ♨️ a forest-facing HOT TUB built for four, ready for stays year-round 🚴‍♂️ 8 min drive (or 20min by bike!) to Roche-A-Cri State Park. Trails, petroglyphs, and staircase to the top with views! 🛻 ATV/UTV trails right outside the door – ride straight from the driveway 🎣 Great fishing (and ice fishing) spots nearby. 🚴 Fat Tire & Regular Biking Trails — Enjoy a sandy ride through vibrant fall colors or a snowy winter adventure on the fat tire trail(open year round!), or explore nearby regular biking paths. 🪑 Love treasure hunting? You’ll find charming antique stores and vintage shops just a few minutes away. 🐾 Dog-friendly (up to 2 medium or 1 large). $50 per pet fee. Just keep your dogs on a leash to keep everyone happy and safe. While the trail itself is safe and enjoyable, farther south there’s a shared 40-acre area where neighbors sometimes hunt, so we recommend sticking to the marked path. Happy wandering! Parking Free spacious parking is available right in the driveway. Please note the driveway is unpaved, so take care when driving, especially during the winter months. Dog-Friendly We love dogs and welcome your furry friends! We provide bowls for food and water. Please keep pets off the furniture and absolutely no dogs on the linens. If your dog really wants to get on the bed at night, please bring your own a thick blanket to protect the bedding. Supervise them outside and clean up after them. Due to the steep ladder stairs, we recommend carrying small or medium dogs upstairs or keeping them downstairs for their safety Guest access Guests have access to the cottage and the entire 1.5-acre property, except for the garage and shed. Other things to note Few house rules/notes 🙃 ➡️ There’s no fence around the property, and it's quite common to see deer, turkeys, and even foxes passing through. So whenever your dogs are outside, keep an eye on them or have them on a leash to avoid any trouble. There’s also a nice trail that starts right in our backyard — feel free to enjoy it! Just please keep your dogs on a leash. The trail itself is safe, but farther south we have about 40 acres of shared land with neighbors, and sometimes they hunt there. It’s rare (I’ve never actually seen anyone), but during turkey season I occasionally hear hunting sounds — so just in case, it’s best not to let the dogs (or kids) wander too far. 🙃 ➡️ The ladder-style stairs in the cottage are quite steep, so please be careful when using them.
