THE SPACE The gas fireplace, fire pit, hot tub, and two decks are open invitations to the outdoors. There is indeed a former gold mine nearby at the Magnolia Mill, along with a beautiful hike up to Wheeler Lake at the headwaters of the Platte River. For the adventurous, access to Mt Democrat and multiple 14ers is only minutes away in the town of Alma. Enjoy a movie night in the flex room with a comfy queen size Murphy bed, sofa, and projector screen. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. BEDROOMS The Gold Mine has three stunning bedrooms to accommodate 6-7 guests. Winter storms can bring up to 6-14 inches of snow at a time, which is quite magical, but hard to drive in. In between storms, the roads and driveway can be slick (even though they are plowed). There is space for 2-3 vehicles at the top of the driveway. Park County does not allow parking on county roads. This is a 2-story house with several stairs to access and is at a high elevation (over 11,000 ft). Most people handle this well, but please keep in mind if you're coming directly from sea level, or have any lung/heart disease. This home is in a residential area. Please respect the privacy and solitude of the neighborhood. We expect our guests to respect noise policies at all times; parties will not be tolerated. If you are unsure of what might be considered a party, please reach out to ask, and we will be happy to help. Extra fees will be charged if these policies are not adhered to. We welcome up to 2 dogs (less than 30 pounds each) with a $100 non-refundable pet fee. Cats not allowed. Smoking indoors will result in a minimum fine of $250 to cover the cost of mitigation. Early check ins may be requested. We do our best to accommodate these requests, depending on guest arrivals and cleaners’ schedule. We provide a complimentary starter supply of essentials, including toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. For extended stays, we kindly ask that guests help replenish any additional items they may need throughout their visit. There are two Ring cameras, one at the front door and the other mounted on the top deck facing down to the street. No cameras face the hot tub or the interior of the home. Park County License #26-0082
