Welcome to Karkkila! Hosting has become a lifestyle for us quite by accident – we love stories and see life as an adventure. We want you to feel as welcome as if you were visiting friends. Your room is ready with fresh bed linen, towels, and coffee, tea and porridge supplies. Next to your room is a lounge - fridge and microwave, access to shared spaces, and a sauna that’s always warm! With us, you’re always more than a guest – you’re part of our home. The space The room is located along the hallway, offering privacy while still being close to all shared spaces. Our home was completed in February 2023, so the facilities are new and functional. The room is cozily furnished for one guest with a comfortable bed and fresh bed linen. There is also a desk, making it well suited for studying or remote work. As this is a family home, the atmosphere is warm and homely – not overly sterile, but the kind of place where it’s easy to feel welcome. Guest access Our guests have their own lounge with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and a TV – a place for small moments and quiet time. The kitchen, bathrooms and utility room are located in the other wing of the house, but they are easy to access and freely available. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a simple meal or even something more festive. The sauna is always warm and ready – just remember to close the lid afterwards. In summer, the terrace and grill invite you to enjoy outdoor meals and gatherings. The yard is still partly unfinished, but it already offers space to breathe and the calm atmosphere of the countryside. During your stay Our guests can decide for themselves how much time they wish to spend with our family or other visitors. To us, home is a place where everyone should feel comfortable – whether enjoying privacy or sharing moments together. We are usually around and happy to help you discover Karkkila’s services, routes and sights. Sometimes we’ve even joined guests on small outings, like a visit to the local school. At home you’ll also meet our two friendly miniature schnauzers, who bring joy to many visitors. What matters most to us is that every guest can feel at ease – either fully in their own space or as part of our daily family life. Other things to note This is not a hotel, but our family home. That means the atmosphere is warm, genuine and relaxed. We live here ourselves with our children and two dogs, and we hope you’ll feel welcome like an old friend rather than just a guest. The yard is still partly unfinished, but it offers space to pause, and in summer the terrace and grill create a pleasant place to enjoy the outdoors. The bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away, with a direct connection to Helsinki in just over an hour. We want you to enjoy not only a good night’s sleep but also peace and rest – which is why quiet time is observed during the night.
