Fredvanghytta " Strandbo" Cabin on MONTAIN.

Fredvanghytta Strandbo is located in one of the most magnificent areas of Lofoten. Places like Kvalvika and Ryten are located about 60 minutes walk from the cabin. The cabin is located at 275 meters above sea level . The shortest way to the cabin is from Indresand where there is parking space with a fee of 100 NOK per day. From the beginning of the trail at Indresand to the cabin it is 60 minutes walk . This walk to the cottage is in itself an experience where you have a view of the major parts of Fredvang. In the cabin there is a wood-burning stove for heating The space In the south you can see all the way to Bodø and in the north see all the way to Vesterålen. Kvalvika and Ryten are 2 of the major exit points that everyone is going to, by staying at the cabin you have a unique opportunity to visit these nice places and the rest of Moskenesøya . We see that some people don't understand that this is a mountain cabin 275 meters above sea level where you have to walk 35-45 minutes on a mountain trail. You must bring a SLEEPING BAG, met and CLEAN DRINKING WATER. Otherwise, the cabin has everything you need. We have had a guest who was the winter of 2019 who said it was deadly to go there in the winter, this is completely wrong. Winter in Lofoten can be unstable and everyone goes in the mountains at their own risk. There is NO electricity in the cabin, candles are used for light and wood for heating when needed ! Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage which consists of on the 1st floor , living room and kitchen in a room, hallway, and 2 bedrooms with 8 single beds. The 2nd floor consists of loft with space on the floor for 8 people. They can access the gas burner in order to prepare food. The cabin is without electricity but there are plenty of candles. Other things to note The cabin has a wood-burning stove and the wood is located in the woodshed near the cabin. There is no running water, but there is water in the container at the cottage that can be boiled before used for food preparation and has to BE used to clean the cottage. There is no installed power so candles are used if necessary. There is no toilet in the cabin. The toilet is located 70 meters from the cabin and is considered as an outhouse. REMEMBER: KEY FITS FOR FRONT DOOR, TOILET AND WOOD STALL!!At the end of the stay, the cabin has to be cleaned and doors, windows must be closed so that new guests arrive to a clean and nice cabin. A few guests do not realize that this is a MOUNTAIN HUT located 275 meters above sea level, which takes approx. 60 minutes to reach by foot, there is also no bed linen, and each guest must bring a SLEEPING BAG. Parking fee is NOT included in the rent !
