The train station is also within a 10-minute walk and from here, you can take a train into Manchester or Liverpool. Just across the road is King’s Gardens, a 17-acre garden which has an adventure playground, tea rooms and lake. It hosts various events throughout the year including an outdoor cinema. Other popular annual events held in Southport include the RHS Flower Show, fireworks championships and Southport Air Show. Southport is also famous for its world-class golf courses, including the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
