Stay in an 18th-century heritage lodge on the Scheldt in Bornem – amidst greenery, silence, and history. Welcome to Pavilion De Notelaer, a unique stay in a historic dome building where you can relax to the rhythm of the river. Built in 1797 as the summer residence of the Duke of Ursel, this place today offers a relaxing stay experience for up to 6 guests – with a mix of heritage, nature and contemporary comfort. The space Welcome to Pavilion De Notelaer. This unique pavilion was built between 1792 and 1797 on behalf of Wolfgang-Guillaume d'Ursel and his wife Flore d'Arenberg, near the old Notelaer where the ferryman has been transporting travelers from one bank of the Scheldt to the other for centuries. The duke and his wife immediately fell in love with this place and commissioned the renowned French architect Charles de Wailly to build their summer pavilion here. The elegant dome building was once a favorite place for hunting parties, parties and meetings of the nobility. That grandeur did not escape the creators of the Prestigious One series "Stille Waters". They used the pavilion as a home for one of the main characters. Since 2017, the Kempens Landscape Foundation, together with the municipality of Bornem, has been managing the building and the park. In 2025, the pavilion was thoroughly restored and repurposed into this enchanting heritage lodge. Staying here is experiencing the splendor of the past while enjoying the comforts of today. The house can accommodate up to 6 people and has 3 tastefully decorated bedrooms and 1 luxurious bathroom with sauna where enjoyment is central. You can cook and have aperitifs in the fully equipped kitchen. Dine with your company in style in the authentic dining room. Mull over things in the stunning, round parquet hall with a fantastic view of the Scheldt, or completely relax in the cozy living room. From April to October, you can enjoy a drink in the afternoon on the garden terrace of VZW De Notelaer. The VZW is active on the premises and organizes exhibitions, among other things. In short, staying in the Notelaer is taking time for your family and friends in peace and comfort.
