Two Piggies Rice Lake Cottage is a spacious and luxurious 5-bedroom cottage situated on the tranquil Rice Lake, located just 90 min from Toronto. It boasts an incredible view of the pristine lake, the spectacular sunset over the lake, and a modern, clean, well-taken care of lodging for your comfort. The space If you have been to different lakes in Ontario, you’d probably know how beautiful, large, and clean Rice Lake is. Two Piggies Cottage is a spacious waterfront cottage that faces West, letting you enjoy the spectacular sunsets, everyday. Trust us, when you have seen the sunset here, nothing in life really feels matters but the beauty you are witnessing. Two Piggies Cottage is a spacious, modern, luxurious 5-bedroom cottage with many features and amenities for a relaxing and worry-free getaway. Two bedrooms on the upper floor have lake views, walkout balcony and KING beds, one other bedroom has a QUEEN bed and another bedroom upstairs has a two TWIN beds (one slides out). On the main floor we have a bedroom downstairs there is a QUEEN bed. Our cottage comfortably sleeps about 10 guests (5 bedrooms). On a case by case basis, we may permit larger group sizes, potentially with a security deposit. Note that group size refer to both adults and children inclusive. All water at the cottage is UV-filtered and perfectly drinkable, which makes it great for families with young kids. We are also pleased to offer full linen (duvet covers, bed sheets, and pillow sheets) but please bring your own towels. Enjoy the incredible view of the scenic Rice Lake from the balcony or patio or your own bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are each equipped with King beds with a shared, walk-out balcony for you to appreciate all the beauty of the lake all day. Kitchen is recently renovated for you to create meals that bond people together. The recently upgraded kitchen is fully equipped and includes a Stove, Fridge, Microwave, Drip Coffee Maker, Cookware, Dishes and Cutlery (there are enough cutlery for 10 people which is our target group size, please bring any additional cutlery you might need depending on your group). Other features include a 5 burner + side burner propane barbecue, large patio and a cozy inflatable hot tub that fits 2-4 adults, and a private dock. Come and enjoy your time with people you love :) There are several nearby attractions for guests to enjoy off the property. Within a 20–30 minute drive, you’ll find family-friendly beaches such as Beavermead Beach, Roger’s Cove Beach, and Squirrel Creek, all great spots for swimming and picnics. Peterborough also has a wonderful free zoo (donations encouraged) that’s very popular with children. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are two excellent trails just 10–15 minutes from the cottage. The Lang Hastings Rail Trail is a scenic 33 km former rail line, ideal for biking, walking, or running, with gentle grades and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. For hiking, the Hope Mill Conservation Area offers a peaceful trail that winds along the Indian River, perfect for a short and relaxing walk. Peterborough also has an awesome FREE zoo (donations encouraged) that are very popular with kids. Hot tub is not available during the winter. It is put away in storage to prevent damage. Per manufacturer instruction, hot tub can only be used when outdoor temperature is consistently above 4 Celsius, including overnight time. Hot tub need to be turned on approximately 4-12 hours in advance depending on outdoor temperature. Guest access The entire cottage is exclusively yours for your enjoyment (except for unfinished basement). All cars must be parked in the driveway (and not on grass). Rice Lake is famous for fishing, kayaking, boating, family fun, and generally enjoying life. You can also access many famous sightseeing places nearby, such as Prince Edward County, Sandbanks, etc. Other things to note - The most important rule is, please treat it like your own house. - Remove outdoor shoes at front door. - Guests to bring their own towels. - The renter must be at least 25 years of age. Our cottage is located in a quiet family oriented area. Loud boisterous activity is not permitted. Our neighbours are quiet year-round residences. - Absolutely NO smoking or vaping indoors. - Regardless of your group size, please note bedding arrangement is as described in the listing. If you have a bigger group, please bring additional sleeping bags, air mattresses, blankets, pillows to suit your group to ensure maximum comfort. - Every guests should be disclosed at the time of reservation, including any children, infant and pets. Undisclosed guests are subject to approval and will be charged at 200/person/night. - No pets on any of the furniture (sofa or beds). Pets must be fully dry before coming back inside the home. - Hot tub may or may not be working. The host is under no obligation to provide a refund if the hot tub is not working during your stay. The host does regularly have the hot tub inspected and cleaned, but on occasion there might be unexpected failure that may result in loss of use of the hot tub (or other facilities in the property such as internet, BBQ, TV, etc) - Firewood is not provided. Although there are often extra firewood, we do not ensure they are refilled. Please bring your own firewood and any thing you might need to start-up and enjoy the campfire experience. Please make sure you comply with any fire bans that are in effect during your stay. - Although we love pets, our cleaning process regrettably restrict pets. We allow for a maximum of one pet per booking and a pet fee of $100/pet will apply. If you will have more than one pet, please let us know. - Leave the place as you find it. Please take all garbage and recycling away upon check-out. Details for waste drop off location will be provided in our welcome package. Our cleaning company charges $50/bag when they are required to do the disposal and we will pass on that charge to you. We can make arrangements and exceptions for guests staying 1 week or longer. - Hot tub and outdoor furniture are only available from June - Oct. They are put away during winter season.
