This beautiful waterfront home in the charming village of Strangford has the most incredible views. The pretty cottage opens up to a spacious townhouse over three floors, comfortably sleeping 8. Enjoy time with family and friends in the large open-plan living space overlooking the quay. Watch the ferry cruise back and forth and the sailing boats come and go, right at the bottom of your private garden. Have breakfast on the terrace and maybe catch a glimpse of the resident dolphins. The space This spacious, recently renovated home comfortably sleeps 8 and is ideal for families or a group of friends. The ground floor, open-plan living space in made up of: - a brand new, fully equipped modern kitchen/diner with a large country style dining table - a cozy 'snug' with wood burning stove and smart TV - a bright, spacious and comfortable sun room with exceptional views over the quay and towards Portaferry. Upper floor: - beautiful, large main bedroom with king-size bed and incredible lough view - twin room, simple and comfortable with lough view - bunk room best suited to kids (or easy going adults:) - large family bathroom with shower over bath Lower floor: - double bedroom with lough view - shower room - utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer - access to terrace and garden. LOCATION Quay View Cottage is located in the beautiful village of Strangford on the east coast of Co Down, Northern Ireland. It is 15 mins from Downpatrick, 40mins from Newcastle and the Mourne Mountains, under an hour from Belfast and just over 2hrs from Dublin. The cottage is the perfect place for a friends, family or couples break or if you're attending a wedding a Old Court Wedding Venue. We are right beside Strangford Castle overlooking the quay and just a minute’s walk from shops, cafes, bars and some exceptional eateries including The Lobster Pot, The Cuan, The Artisan Cookhouse and for lighter bites, The Cake Room. Strangford is a chilled out yet buzzing village and there’s so much to enjoy nearby… take a gorgeous woodland or shoreline walk, visit stunning Castleward (National Trust property), enjoy a boat tour on the lough, hop on the ferry to Portaferry to visit the aquarium and explore the Ards Peninsula. In summer time you can relax on amazing beaches at Kilclief and Ballyhornan just minutes away, or simply enjoy an ice cream while watching kids (big and small!) ‘jump the quay’ and splash in the water as the ferry comes and goes. Strangford is a magical place. Guest access Guests at Quay View Cottage have full and exclusive use of the house, the terrace and the private garden with direct access to the quay. Free on-street parking is generally available at the front of the house and a private gated space is available at the rear. Other things to note Quay View Cottage is a happy house best suited to chilled out groups of family and friends who want to spend time together and enjoy the local area. It was our home for over a decade and we hope you love it as much as we do. Have a blast for sure, but please respect our local friends and neighbours by keeping late night noise to a minimum.
