The space Nestled on our smallholding near the village of Crich, just a short drive from the Peak District, Cedar Cottage is a beautifully restored one-bedroom stone cottage designed exclusively for couples seeking peaceful escapes and romantic breaks in the Derbyshire countryside. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or simply escaping the pace of everyday life, this is a place to slow down and reconnect. Spend your days wandering country lanes, visiting historic houses or discovering charming Derbyshire villages, then come home to light the fire, pour a glass of wine and soak in the freestanding roll-top bath beside the bed. THE SPACE The open-plan living space is warm and welcoming, with a cosy bioethanol fire, comfortable seating and a handmade kitchen — perfect for slow mornings before a day out. Upstairs, the bedroom is the heart of the cottage. The roll-top bath sits beside the double bed, the perfect spot to soak and switch off at the end of the day, while a separate rainfall shower gives you the best of both. Outside, your own private patio is ideal for morning coffee, dining al fresco, or simply sitting back to watch the sun slip behind Crich Stand as the evening draws in. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Adults only: Cedar Cottage is a peaceful retreat designed for couples and isn't suitable for children or infants. Thank you for understanding. Historic cottage: As with many period properties, there's low head height in places. Step into the kitchen: There's a single step between the living area and the kitchen. Bioethanol fire: Fuelled by bioethanol for a real flame without smoke or logs — full instructions provided for your comfort and safety. Guest access As you arrive at Sycamore Farm, you'll see the black entrance gates. Drive through the double steel farm gates on the right and park on the left, keeping access to the field clear. Cedar Cottage is through the single wooden gate. Please make sure the wooden gate is kept closed at all times, as we have animals on the smallholding. If we're around when you arrive, we'll be happy to say hello. As the property is on our small holding, you may see us come and go, but we will always respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy your stay. Other things to note Please note that Cedar Cottage is an adults-only retreat designed exclusively for couples and is not suitable for children or infants. As Cedar Cottage is a character property, there are areas upstairs with low head height. There is a single step down from the living area into the kitchen. The cosy stove in the living room is a bioethanol fire rather than a traditional log burner. It burns clean bioethanol fuel, which is provided by your host, and full instructions are available for your comfort and safety.
