York’s Dwelling is a lovingly restored Suffolk cottage. Medieval in origin it largely dates from 1592. With a characterful open-plan dining room, kitchen and sitting room that runs the width of the house the space benefits from all-day sunlight. Original flooring runs underfoot; a combination of stone slabs, bricks, terracotta tiles and oak planks. There is a door which opens into the garden and a brick terrace, perfect for outdoor dining. A unique private home with a style all its own. The space This is a two bedroom cottage with a wonderful open plan living area, including a well equipped kitchen with an Aga and electric oven. Each bedroom has it's own staircase entrance, one with a freestanding bath and toilet and the other with an ensuite shower room. One of the bedrooms has a large King Size Coco-Mat bed, and the other a large Queen. Full of contemporary art, books and beautiful, personally chosen items, this is my main home and I rent it to guests when travelling with work, I work as a curator and artistic producer with amazing artists in performance all over the world. Until recently based in Amsterdam, I returned to Suffolk where I grew up to be close to my Mum at the end of her life. The cottage has a good sized garden, and terrace which catches the sun all day long and is a perfect place for a coffee in the morning, or evening drink and informal dinner. I invite guests to come and stay and enjoy this place as if it is their home, as it is mine. Guest access Guests can use all of the house. There are 2 parking spaces adjacent to the property.
