Some parts of the structure are even older, incorporating remnants of the original Roman and medieval city walls. With its wooden beams, thick stone walls, and unexpected architectural details, the apartment is full of historic character—while offering all the comforts of modern living. Fully renovated in 2020, the space features oak floors with floor heating, a sleek bathroom with a shower, and a washer and dryer for your convenience. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and everything you need to cook and enjoy meals at home. During your stay, you’ll have access to: – A cozy and nearly circular tower bedroom with original 15th-century beams, a 160cm bed, and a reading nook that overlooks the backyard and river. Please note: I usually live in this apartment and rent it out when I travel, which is why my bedroom remains closed off during your stay. The rest of the apartment is yours to enjoy exclusively. Other things to note The apartment is located in the heart of Olten's historic old town. The central train station is just a 6-minute walk away, offering quick and easy access to major Swiss cities—reach Zurich, Bern, Basel, or Lucerne in just about 30 minutes by train. You'll find everything you need nearby: a large Coop supermarket just around the corner, Migros within 5 minutes on foot, and Aldi about 15 minutes away. There are also smaller grocery stores at the train station that stay open late and on Sundays. The neighborhood is lively and full of character, with plenty of cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and a few local museums to discover. The area is very quiet, as Olten’s old town has limited car access and is mostly pedestrian-only. For those arriving by car, paid public parking is available directly behind the building. In the warmer months, enjoy a refreshing dip at the nearby outdoor swimming pool, just a few meters from the apartment.
