D-Day cottage in the heart of the 1944 landings!

Our D-DAY cottage is located in the Calvados department, Normandy, just 15 minutes from the prestigious 8 km long Omaha Beach where pets are allowed, and is adjacent to the Manche department and the large Cotentin Basin. It has been redesigned in an environmentally friendly way. It's a perfect place to discover all the remains of the Second World War (WW2) with its many UNESCO World Heritage sites. We are 15 minutes from many places to visit. The space Very nice Norman stone GITE, with a surface area of 105 m2, distributed as follows: On the ground floor you will find a large living room, perfect for a relaxing moment along the hydro wood stove, where is above an oven to cook your favorite dishes. The convertible sofa bed (real thick mattress 140 x 200) will turn into a real cozy nest for the night. The 2nd sofa is a convertible clic clac type. A dining area with a large table to share your meals with family or friends up to 10 people. A high chair is available for the little ones. You will also find a complete and fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, complete dishes, airfryer, TASSIMO capsule coffee machine and classic filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster, etc.), with its bar and stools overlooking the living room to share a friendly aperitif with your family or friends. Finally, you will have a laundry area with washing machine and dryer, a storage space and coat rack, separate toilets, and a large bathroom with a bathtub and shower wall, as well as a hair dryer. Upstairs, you can spend beautiful nights in the 3 bedrooms available: The first bedroom, the Utah, sleeps 4 (2 x 140/200 cm) and features a large walk-in closet and a smart TV. It can be divided into 2 bedrooms using a room divider curtain for added privacy. The second bedroom, the Omaha, sleeps 2 (1 x 160/200 cm), has a walk-in closet, a TV with DVD player, and a travel cot for little ones. The third bedroom, the Gold, sleeps 1 person (1 x 90/200 cm) and is located in the attic. So we can host up to 10 guests in total and 1 infant. You will find something to entertain you in our Gîte: DVDs for adults and children, books for adults and children, children's toys, darts and foosball (convertible into a ping pong table, pallet games, billiards). All the surrounding tourist documentation is available in our Gîte, you won't even have to travel to the Tourist Office. As for the outdoor spaces of the cottage, a large fully enclosed lawn court is at your disposal, as well as a gravelled courtyard. Our four-legged friends are welcome. A solarium area is available with 2 sunbaths. A large semi-covered terrace with garden furniture and barbecue are also available. 2 composters are at the back of the garden to dispose of your biodegradable waste. Our carport (covered garage) can easily accommodate 2 cars, and the large yard even more for your military vehicles! A gate and its gate secure our cottage. It is located in a very quiet environment, in the Normandy countryside, just 1/4 of an hour from all the historical sites of the Second World War. You will be able to listen to music and shout without limits, by not strictly disturbing anyone, as we have no neighbors! Or, yes, just a few horses in the distance in their Stud. A pyre is available for your beautiful evenings around the wood burning stove. We also provide you with dry toilets, with fully biodegradable bags as well as compost for a green holiday. Our Gite is located just 15 minutes from Saint Laurent sur Mer, Vierville sur Mer, Colleville sur Mer (the Route de Liberté which serves the Overlord Museum and the American Cemetery), 12 minutes from Isigny sur Mer and its wonderful dairy products, 20 minutes from Carentan les Marais (parachute from June 6, 1944, WW2 shops, museums), 25 minutes from Saint Côme du Mont (D-Day Experience, museums), Sainte Mere Church, its historic church, its shops and museums, and Sainte Marie du Mont and its world-famous Utah Beach, 25 minutes from Pointe du Hoc, 1 hour 15 minutes from Mont Saint Michel, 15 minutes from St Lo, 40 minutes from Caen and its Memorial that we highly recommend, 25 minutes from Bayeux, its medieval historic center and its tapestries. Guaranteed calm, rest in sight! Other things to note Access to our gîte is at your convenience thanks to our lockbox. 🔑 End-of-stay cleaning is not included, but is quite possible upon request. Bed linen and bath linen are not provided either, it will be provided on request from you with an additional charge. 🧹🧽🧴 Our grounds are completely enclosed for our four-legged friends. 2 compost bins are located at the bottom of the grounds for your biodegradable waste.
