Photographers bring your camera, artists your paints, astronomers, telescopes, walks your boots and fishermen your rods. Those just wanting a rest, relax with a book by the river. EV charger. The space The Old Mill Annexe is a restored part of the old water mill. It contains some mill memorablia such as corn hoppers, winders and pullies and trap doors for pulling grain sacks up and down, as a result it has some slight trip hazards [all clearly marked} and some low ceilings which makes it unsuitable for anyone exceptionally tall or anyone with mobility issues. It has two ensuite bedrooms, one with a bath and shower over and the other with a small separate shower. It has a very large airy kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, work top freezer and doors opening on to the pretty patio with a path down to the river. There are walks all along the river and an orchard for picnics, dog walks and family games which has lots of walkways down to the water. The water is tested by a testing station close by and is a great place for paddling and swimming for humans and dogs, fishing for trout and salmon is permitted over a half mile distance from the property. We do have two other cottages, The old mill holiday cottage and The Millers cottage each sleeping 4 plus people and a shepherds hut sleeping two guests so if you need more space or looking for a large group family or friends holiday we can accommodate 14 plus guest in the properties together Guest access The Annexe has a private enclosed patio with gated path to the river which is solely for the use of The annexe guests. The orchard is a communal area that can be used by both our cottages, annexe and our shepherds hut guests. The walkways and access to the river along our boundary is also for use only by our guests and us. The walks along the river are public footpaths, although are not used extensively by people other than our guests and us. Other things to note Not only are there lots of things to do here at The Old Mill, fabulous river walks, fishing, river swimming, paddling and playing in the water.( children should of course be superivised) we provide lots of games for the orchard too, garden jenga, rounders, croquet etc. Further afield there are lots of attractions beautiful gardens to visit, The Garden House, Stone Lane, R.H.S Rosemoor, Clovelly court, Marwood Hill to name a few. The National Trust has lots of local properties too, Finch fiundry, Castle Drogo, Lydford gorge, and many more in south Devon and Cornwall. For the family there is of course Tamar valley zip wires, tree walking and canoeing, pony treking on Dartmoor, Chagford outdoor heated pool, and only an hour away, The Eden project and Helligan gardens. There are also a selecion of restaurants and cafes in Okehampton and there are lots of cosy dog friendly pubs in the local villages, many on Dartmoor with incredible scenery and most with lovely garden to enjoy the sun in.
