La Grange Charton Gite

Enjoy our newly renovated space here at La Grange Charton. We have taken care to retain the original features of the building whilst creating a modern and inviting space. Interior design is a passion of ours so careful thought has gone into each aspect of the renovation. We hope you will appreciate serenity of the surroundings whilst enjoying the stylish and spacious interior. Perfect for couples, we hope you will agree that the tranquility and beauty of the space make for the perfect break. The space Having been newly renovated our gite has been lovingly created with our guests in mind. Your comfort and convenience is important to us so we have attempted to include as many features as possible. You will find an airy, open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with all the facilities you could need including electric underfloor heating. The kitchen, with breakfast bar, is fully equipped as you would expect with an electric 4-burner hob, full sized oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. In the lounge area there is a smart TV with French and UK channels plus access to Netflix, YouTube, etc. The large comfortable sofa and armchair provide a cosy spot for relaxing. Free Wi-Fi is also provided. The spacious double bedroom provides a calm and tranquil environment which has been tastefully decorated and furnished - hopefully everything you need for a restful nights sleep. Finally, the luxurious shower room provides a large walk-in shower, WC, heated towel rail, vanity unit, and shaver point. For your convenience you will also find an 5kg washing machine. Clothes airer is also provided. Outside you have two private garden spaces to choose from. The spacious rear garden is in full sun from around midday so perfect for catching those rays! It is fenced so provides privacy with thoughtfully placed screens and lots of beautiful planting. There is gate which provides direct access to the rest of the gardens. At the front there is another garden space which provides afternoon shade so if you prefer to get out of the sun but still want to be outside, this is perfect spot! We do have an above ground pool, which are welcome to use. Please note this is shared with us and our children. Finally, if walking is your thing, you will be spoilt for choice! We have miles of forest tracks straight from our front gate - a walker’s paradise! You will fine an IGN map of the area in the gite for your use. The town of Champagne Mouton is 2 km away. We are very lucky to have this fabulously little town on our doorstep. With it’s restaurant/bar, supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, bank, post office, and bi-weekly food market (Tuesday and Friday) it’s the perfect place for all your essentials and more. Further away (approximately 20km) you’ll find the large towns or Ruffec, Confolens and Civray. We have many fabulous areas of interest, towns, villages, cities, etc in this part of Charente. Many of the details of which you will find in the information guide inside the gite. Or just ask us, we’d be happy to help and share our knowledge with you. Guest access Our guests have full access to the gite, it’s two gardens and the pool area. The above ground pool is there for your use but please note it is shared with us and our two children. You are welcome to wander around the property but, for your own safety, and that of our animals, we must insist that you do not enter the barn, fields or any areas where the horses are. Other things to note As this is our family home, you are likely to see us and our two children around but be assured that every effort is made to ensure disruption to you is kept to a minimum. We have two daughters aged 12 and 5 who are very respectful and well behaved but you may hear/see them from time to time. Before booking your stay with us, please do consider this and if you decide that a family environment is not for you, please look elsewhere for your perfect stay. We have two horses which require lots of care as well as hens so you will see us tending to them at various times throughout the day. Oh and, you may receive a feline visitor from time to time, we have three curious cats who will come for a nosey given the opportunity. Finally, we politely ask that you respect our home and behave appropriately. Also be mindful that we have neighbours so please be respectful of them too whilst still enjoying your stay.
