Manor house built in the early 20th century to be initially a summer residence. Preserving its original stately style and distinguished tone to the fullest, it was restored in 2025 by its current owners Ventura and Isabel, whose Manchego origin of the latter definitively determined the name of Casa Dulcinea. It consists of a very spacious living room and kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a garden with a barbecue. The space Casa Rural Dulcinea is a soul accommodation, ideal for groups, especially families looking for a spacious and comfortable place to meet within the natural environment of the Palentina Mountain without sacrificing comfort. Located in the historic village of Brañosera, it offers an authentic experience with details that evoke a certain flavor of the elegance of yesteryear. The kitchen, the heart of the house, of more than 30 m2 is equipped with all the modern appliances (refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and ceramic hob), and preserves a traditional Bilbao kitchen in operation. Its large antique wooden table makes this space the perfect place to share meals and desktops in good company. The living room offers an extended space along the ground floor for gathering, reading, chatting, enjoying a good movie, or playing foosball. The decor combines original rustic elements (stone walls and central table made from an antique puertona) with modern amenities (modern sofas and panoramic TV) On the first floor, there are four bedrooms: • Bedroom 1: 1.35 m bed, antique wardrobe, village view. • Bedroom 2: 1.35 m bed, balcony access with ideal views for reading and rest. • Room 3: two 90 cm beds, antique wardrobe, garden view. • Room 4: bunk beds with two 90 cm beds. Two full bathrooms service this floor. When the number of guests exceeds 8, room 5 is enabled, on the ground floor: spacious, with a 1.50 m bed and 1.20 m sofa bed, ideal for accommodating up to 3 people. It is accessed from the living room through an interior aisle with lighting that enhances the beams, wooden columns and the iconic “piedrona” as part of the foundations of the house. In the private garden of 100 m², the elegance of the original design is maintained with decorative stripes, perimeter vegetation, terrace furniture and a barbecue ready to enjoy the outdoors. Guest access As for the indoor common areas, we have emphasized the conditioning of the house through good thermal insulation (very important in winter) and an effective heating system. We also wanted to provide a cozy and perhaps evocative decoration of those summer houses of yesteryear. And finally, all the details that make up the guest's comfort: any appliance, high-quality wifi, large TV, etc. Oh, and the 100 m² private garden, where the elegance of the original design is maintained with decorative strips, perimeter vegetation, terrace furniture and a barbecue ready to enjoy outdoors. (Depending on the number of guests, one room or another is opened. With a maximum of 8 guests, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are opened and when this number is exceeded up to 11, an additional area is opened on the ground floor with another bedroom and another bathroom) Other things to note As we show through the photos of the town of Brañosera, throughout the 4 seasons of the year, you can get an extraordinary value from the Dulcinea-Brañosera stay: SPRING: The landscape both inside and outside the forests is lavish. The meadows are dyed an intense and fresh green, dotted with daisies, daffodils (lirios, here) and violets that sprout to the rhythm of the thaw. The streams, fed by the snow that is removed from the peaks, descend with verve and the holly, beech and oak trees awaken with tender shoots. A real festival and very accessible for the non-specialized hiker as there are trails and forest paths throughout the Sierra de Brañosera. SUMMER: The two swimming pools (pozos, as we call them here), La Aceña and El Merino are a real attraction for visitors. When in other areas the temperature is 40º, in Brañosera, it may not rise above 26º and within Dulcinea it does not exceed 22º. Therefore, you can take advantage of the whole day to do outdoor activities with a practically ideal temperature range. AUTUMN: Within the autumn of the Brañosera forests you will probably find all the colors of the spectrum: ocher, gold, muted reds, yellows, reddish browns that can be traversed by endless tracks and forest paths. Oh, and don't forget the mushrooms: Boletus, Perro chico (the white one we say here) Senderuelas...and the Amanita cesárea (fantastic on the plate), for those who can differentiate it from the muscaria... WINTER: When the forest dies down, the snow arrives and a lot of activities open up in the mountains. The most popular is skiing: We are 20 minutes from the Alto Campoo station, so you can choose Casa Dulcinea within the typical ski plan.
