Relax with your furry friends at this peaceful, two bedroom cottage. There's a fully enclosed, private garden, where pooches can play safely. Sit and watch the birds from the deck in the garden. Explore the Ridgeway and dozens of other paths, right from the cottage door. Cozy up in front of the wood burning stove - the logs come free. The cottage is a mile from the village of Compton, with its pub and shop. It's close to the A34 and M4 for Oxford and other lovely places to visit. The space Bramblefield Cottage was build in the 1800s and has been lovingly cared for, for many years. It is still full of character and charm. It's the middle cottage of three, situated in a quiet 'hamlet' a mile from the village. The cottage has it's own fully enclosed garden, where you can enjoy breakfast on the patio or evening drinks on the deck, that catches the last of the evening sun. From there you can walk to the shop and the pub in Compton, across the fields and footpaths. There's plenty of peace and quiet here, with amazing walks on the Ridegeway, as well as easy access to Oxford and Highclere Castle, Stonehenge and even London. There's a wood burning stove in the sitting room, to keep you warm and cosy. We can give you an unlimited supply of wood. We even have EV charging, if you need it for your car. Just ask! We live next door so are often around if you need us for advice on which pub to go to, or if you'd like some fresh veg from our garden or eggs from our hens. And if you don't need us, that's fine too. Guest access At Bramblefield Cottage, you have the whole place to yourselves. There are two delightful bedrooms upstairs with views over the gardens and fields (one with a double or twin beds and one with bunk beds). Downstairs is the cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook and eat and a bathroom, with a power shower. There's even a hallway with space for boots and coats, where you'll find the washing machine and dishwasher too. There is plenty of free parking outside Bramblefield Cottage and also in the drive next door, at Appletree Cottage, if you need it. There are steps down to the front door, from the drive. If you need to store bikes or pushchairs, there's a shed by the front door too. Other things to note We love to recycle as much as we can. There are bins for you to use, for different recyclables, which we'll empty when you leave. Bramblefield Cottage is on a septic tank, which means that anything other than loo roll down the toilet can cause problems. If you use wet wipes, nappies or cotton buds, please put them into the bin. The cottage is a bit too far from the nearest town for anyone to deliver takeaways. However, you can call the pub in the village - the Compton Swan - to order a takeaway and then collect it.
