La Grange de Germain

Located in the small village of Vabres, nestled at the foot of the Margeride forest massif at 950 m alt, near a high place of the resistance, Mont Mouchet (Museum). This forest massif extends over three departments (15, 43, 48). Always less than an hour away, a wide variety of landscapes are available to you, from the Aubrac plateau, through the Cantal Mountains, the valleys of the Haute Loire, to the plains of Limagne and the Chaîne des Puys (63). The space – La Grange de Germain - Classified as a 3-star tourist accommodation We are located in the small village of Vabres, nestled at the foot of the Margeride forest massif at an altitude of 950 meters, close to a high place of resistance and its museum (Le Mont Mouchet). The Margeride forest massif spans three departments (Cantal, Haute-Loire and Lozère). A variety of very different landscapes is available to you, from the landscapes of the Aubrac plateau (40 min), to the Monts du Cantal (40 min) world of medium mountains, the valley landscapes of the Haute Loire (40 min), to the plains of Limagne and the Puys mountain range in the Puy de Dôme (1 hour). Come and recharge in the heart of the Cantalian countryside just 10 minutes from the A75 motorway. The environment is ideal for outdoor sports (Trail, mountain biking, hiking, etc...) even from the cottage. The gite is in a former barn built in the 1930s, finished being renovated in March 2025. We live in the northwest part of the building, and the gite is exposed to the southeast. Inside: - Fully equipped open kitchen, with its dining room area. The kitchen is as suitable as possible for a person in a wheelchair to cook and do dishes (height-adjustable countertop with sink and induction hob), high oven with side door. - The Blue room has an electric roller shutter on remote control, outlets and wifi switches, an individual bathroom to PMR standards. Equipped as standard with two 90x200 beds it can be customized to a customer with a disability (On request possibility to have our partner installed La Méridienne Médicale (see their website for more information) a medical bed with a suitable mattress, hoist with strap, verticalizer with strap, or other technical aids on request). - The Violet Room has a king size bed 180x200 and an individual bathroom with shower, double sink and hanging toilet. - A 3rd service toilet with a sink in the laundry room, with a washing machine available. - The mezzanine, accessible only by stairs, has two extra beds (a 2-person BZ bed 140 x 200 and a 2-mattress bed 90 x 190 rather for children), as well as a living area with a corner sofa, a TV (with a Xiaomi Mi TV Stick and no cable TV channel) and a reading or board games area. Facilities: - Umbrella bed and mattress, sunbed, booster for dining at the table, changing table mattress. -BBB - Garden table and chairs - Wi-Fi. - Board games for young and old. Guest access Direct access with two free parking spaces in front of the house and small corner with outdoor table and chairs and barbecue available.
