Step outside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by rolling paddocks, peaceful creeks, and fresh country air. Wander the property at your own pace, watch the resident Highland cattle graze, and keep an eye out for local wildlife – kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, and native birdlife are often spotted nearby. Please note that from time to time, other guests may be staying in one of our caravans located by the creek, separate from the house and yard. Other things to note Elveden Homestead is an original Queensland farmhouse built in 1910. Like many old homes, it sits high on stumps, with steps leading up to the verandah. Please take care, especially with children or anyone unsteady on their feet. The property is off-grid, meaning we rely on rainwater, solar power, and a septic system. We kindly ask guests to use water and electricity thoughtfully. Internet and mobile service can be limited, so it’s the perfect place to unplug and enjoy the peace of the countryside. This is a working farm with livestock, wildlife, and natural features such as creeks and uneven ground. For your safety, please supervise children outdoors, keep gates closed, and be mindful of your surroundings.
