Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. Boasting a large, screened in covered porch with large flat top grill and smoker. Large kitchen complete with a slow cooker, Kitchenaid mixer and attachments, Breville InFizz, blender, dishwasher, microwave, oven, 5 burner stove, fridge with water and ice . 3 bedrooms with queen beds. 2 bedrooms have TVs, the third is on basement level, just off a private tv room. Gym equipment and a quiet place for yoga. Private yard. The space We are located 1 km outside of Glace Bay. Only 4km to Big Glace Bay Beach. The rental is at the end of a quiet lane and is very private. It is 4km to Big Glace Bay Beach, 10km from the airport, and very close to access the ATV trail system (walking distance). There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, both have Queen sized beds and TVs with Firesticks. The main level has a living room with seating for 6, a dining room with seating for 6, a kitchen with a floating island that seats 2 and the basement has a bedroom with a Queen bed, a full bathroom and an entertainment/workout area. There is a firepit in the yard, Nova Scotia burning restrictions are updated at 2pm each day and must be checked before burning. No burning is allowed before 2pm daily, and needs to be checked at 2pm to confirm daily restrictions. If you have a passion for grilling or smoking food, this is the place for you! There is a Bradley Smoker and everything you need to use it and a Paderno flat top grill that is fully seasoned and ready to use. 1 tank of propane is supplied for your cooking pleasure. The kitchen is fully equipped with a french door fridge with ice and water on the door, a convection oven, OTR microwave, 3 tier dishwasher, Kitchenaid mixer with attachments, baking essentials, a slow cooker, Breville InFizz, coffee maker with K-cup option, french press and double kitchen sink. We have a highchair and stroller that can be made available upon request. There are pack and go playpen in 2 of the bedroom closets. Guest access There is a 3rd bedroom upstairs that is locked, it is where we store our lives while we are travelling. There is also a furnace room in the basement that is locked for the same reason. There are 2 cupboards in the dining room that are labelled as "Hosts cupboards" and we ask that you do not access those bottom cupboards. The thermostat for heating/cooling is located on the wall in the hallway between the living room and stairs. It can be adjusted to meet your comfort level. The front deck and yard are available for you to enjoy, as well as the side yard with firepit. The "backyard" is essentially the porch and parking and can be used by guests. There are a few outbuildings (sheds) on the property that should not be accessed by guests, but the one closest to the house is fully accessible and has a lot of outdoor activities that you are welcome to use during your stay. Please feel comfortable using anything that your find during your stay - you are most welcome! Our only ask is that you put it back where you found it when you are done. Other things to note We welcome any feedback that you can offer. Please DM us any suggestions or concerns that you might have. Garbage and recycling are picked up on Tuesday morning and can be placed in the bin on Monday night. In Cape Breton we use green bins for all food and organic waste. There is a grey bin under the sink with a compostable liner so that you can fill it in the house and then transport the liner bag to the green bin cart. In Cape Breton there is a 10 cent deposit fee on all beverage containers, except dairy products. Pop cans and bottles, alcohol containers, juice boxes or bottles etc. can be returned to the bottle depot. 5 cents is returned to you when you return the bottles. We usually donate ours, if you would like to leave yours we can add them to the next bottle drive. Garbage and recycling can be bagged and left on the porch at check out, we dont mind disposing of it. There is plenty of firewood available for use. We cannot overstate the importance of following Nova Scotia burning regulations. There is absolutely no burning between 8am and 2pm daily. After 2pm, refer to the website for direction. Some days there is no burning allowed at all, and others it is restricted to only after 7 pm. There is a $25,000 fine associated with burning outside of approved times and the host will not be responsible for any fines guests incur. There is a horse shoe pit in the yard. Please enjoy at your own risk. The horse shoes are in the shed closest to the house. Bow and arrows are also in the shed, along with target bags. These are also to be enjoyed at your own risk - we prefer that they are only used against the shed for safety. Splash pad and sprinklers are available. Please turn water off when not in active use. The splash pad is dog friendly. Pets - we consider dogs to be our guests as well. You should find everything you need in the home including crates (bring your own bedding), tie outs, poop bags and bowls. Our neighbours love dogs, but please be respectful and limited excessive barking - especially during the night. There is a dog friendly splash pad in the shed for outdoor fun. Also, a shallow pond out back that we use for skating in the winter, our dogs love splashing in it the rest of the year. We are fine with off leash activities as long as your dog is under control and recalls well. Please cover the Duvet with a sheet if your dog sleeps with you. (sheet is in the drawer at the bottom of the shelves in the laundry room) Toddlers - we have a highchair or booster seat that can be made available upon request. There is a foam mattress in the basement bedroom closet that can be used if your child wants to be in the room with you, and a pack-n-play in the upstairs bedroom closet. Toys are in the cubby at the top of the stairs, and there's coloring books in the living room drawer. We have an old Little Tykes table and chair set that can be made available with advance notice. If there is anything that you need for yourself, your children or your pets to make you stay more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to ask. We want you to have the best stay possible!
