A Cima, a traditional Corsican house in the Castagniccia
General description (see also web-site: gites Typical traditional Corsican house, built on a rock, with surrounding terraces and breath-taking vistas. We are in the mountains to the coast (about 1 hour drive from the port of Bastia and 45 minutes from Poretta airport). The road winds up from the plains for 14 km to finally end in Ferlaya (commune de Monte) in the still traditional Castagniccia at 450 m altitude in the mountains. The car is parked on the square and on foot should be covered a distance of approximately 100 meters. It is therefore not suited for wheelchair holders. Given the many terraces we think this house is less suitable for small children; or are different accesses to the terraces provided with picket fences. The apartment m. N. good for two adults. We rent luxury apartment on the ground floor (2 or 3 people). We live in the house above. The apartment has access to Wi-Fi. FURTHER DESCRIPTION APARTMENT: Watch pictures of the interior. The vaults, which were rebuilt in 2014 to a very characteristic and comfortable apartments consist of a two-person bedroom, a separate space with one bed, a luxurious bathroom and walk-in shower; and a lounge with a kitchenette, sofa and TV room for a cot. This apartment has a private entrance and separate kitchen. A large south facing terrace with a shady pergola and a large barbeque. And slightly lower, a seat under the olive tree adds to your privacy. The sublime views of the Corsican maquis make the pleasure complete. GENERAL In the summer, mostly lived on the terrace with a great view. The setting sun, the peace and fragrance of wild maquis a daily hug. The house is a narrow terrace with an entrance to the luxury apartment and the kitchen. Messages must be down to do in supermarkets. In the village prevails an absolute silence; only the sounds of nature will that disrupt. You arrive in a small three minute drive to uncrowded beaches with restaurants (specialty mussels and pizzas). M. n. Aghione plage is worth. In the village itself (with about 25 permanent inhabitants) are no tourist facilities; except a jeux de boules. The top of the Mont'Angelo (1200 meters high) you reach after walking 2 to 3 hours. It passes a spectacular climbing wall for professional mountaineer. Other walks are directly from the village; For example, to Penta Acquatella. And of course one reaches within not too long a time (1 to 1.5 hours) along the various winding roads to the point hike to the highest mountain in the region Monte San Pedrone (over 1400 meters). The most famous (and or heavy; 14 days) walk starts a little further away: the GR20 runs from northwest to southeast Corsica and run right along the high peaks (such as the Monte Cinto, more than 2,700 meters). Several "tra mare et monte" Trails crisscross the island. For example, with Lonely Planet in your pocket you will discover the wonderful diversity of Corsica !!! Where required, we can guide you on walks in the area. We can also, in case of logistical questions / problems, bring something back and pick up elsewhere. We are and have been coming in Corsica since 1978, so know pretty well and can tell you a lot; cq. provide useful information. In this context, can also serve our apartment as a pied-à-terre.
