Description
The Stable Studios are the recently renovated wooden stables of The Stable House, a family home converted in 1970 from a Victorian stable block. There are three studios; each studio has a spacious double bedroom with ensuite walk-in shower room, a separate living room with kitchen facilities including oven, hob, microwave and fridge and sliding doors out onto your own patio with wonderful open views over the local countryside and access to over 20 acres of parkland, paddocks and woodland The space Each studio has made use of the unique features of the different stables; with high ceilings and stable doors, using the original ironwork to maintain the look of a stable yard but with all the modern comforts of a luxury living space; lovely and light with everything you would need for a retreat from the busyness of daily life; a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofa, table and chairs, good showers and WiFi. Please note that there is no TV but board games provided and there is Wifi if you wish to bring your own device. We leave a breakfast welcome pack at the beginning of your stay comprising local farm fresh eggs, cereal, milk, tea and coffee. On the outer side of the Stable Studios there are sliding doors out onto your own patio where you can sit in comfort and watch the alpacas and/or cattle (dependent on the time of year) in the fields beyond; or if you enjoy bird watching, bring your binoculars to enjoy spotting the resident buzzards and red kites, not forgetting the many species of garden and woodland smaller birds. We run a Coffee Club out of The Stable Barn, in the old stable-yard, serving Barista coffee (including decaf) and various teas, and home made cakes and biscuits (with a gluten free and Vegan options!). The coffee is blended and roasted just a few miles away and Rainforest Alliance certified. We’re open to guests and friends. We ask for a donation to cover the cost of the coffee etc plus a bit extra which goes to help support the work of the Aesso Orphanage in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Ask us about our visits there. Check with us when this is open. The Stable House Retreat property is known as a good place to retreat, rest, relax and be restored. We have other accommodation available on The Stable House property, if you want to meet up with other families and friends. These are listed separately. We would ask no parties please and please be considerate to other residents The Stable Studios are situated near to our family home so we do ask that guests are respectful of our space and look after the property - please respect the outside spaces marked Private. Guest access Your Studio is completely private with its own patio; there is parking just a few metres away. Whilst staying with us, you will have the freedom to roam our 20 acre property of woodland and fields apart from a few areas marked Private for our own family use. There are three resident Alpacas, who are learning that it is ok to say hello over the fence (particularly when offered some of their special feed - ask in The Stable Barn for information). They might be in a different field, dependent on the grass. Other things to note Please note that this property does not have a TV; we leave some games and cards, and there is , of course, an Internet connection as well as a lovely relaxing space to read or enjoy the view.
