Garden room with king-size bed by the sea
Description
A peaceful sanctuary in a beautiful Victorian square hidden just out of earshot of Dublin’s buzzy Dun Laoghaire. With two piers stretching out into the bay & the stunning neighbouring areas of Dalkey & Killiney, you might not want nor need to go further afield. Stay local for great coffee, superb restaurants, sea swimming, coastal walks & lots more. And for when you want to venture into the city centre, it is very easily accessed by public transport (14min walk to Dun Laoghaire Dart station). The space My garden flat is situated along a leafy Victorian terrace in a really beautiful and very friendly square. It is a two-bedroom flat and if I am here, I am usually squirrelled away at my writing desk so most likely, it will feel like you have the place to yourself. Very often I am away so occasionally there is capacity for a third person - just ask in your booking request. Out the back, the flat has its own terrace that gets lovely afternoon sunshine. For the morning, the front garden is bathed in light. The flat itself has a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy corner in which to sit, drink coffee and have lazy weekend mornings. The sitting room has big sofas in which to get comfy, sit in front of the fire and read/watch/drink wine etc. The bedroom is unbelievably peaceful. In the morning, you can hear the birds chirping but almost nothing else. The bed is fitted with a White Company topper which means you sink right into it and have the best night's sleep. The only thing to be aware of is that the wifi, whilst strong in the main part of the flat, has a weak signal in the bedroom - these Victorian walls are thick! Hopefully this can work to your advantage and will contribute to a proper switch-off! This is my home and I work from here too but tend to keep myself to myself, squirrelled away in my writing den at the front of the flat. However, I'm always happy to answer any Qs you might have! You will have your own private shower and loo - my room and the bathroom off the sitting room are both private. Other than that, you can come and go as you like! There's no better way to start the day than a swim and sauna down at the 40ft followed by coffee in Glasthule. For the best food, Caviston's deli is a 15min walk away and if you're in the market for culture, the Pavillion theatre is a stone's throw and the area hosts regular festivals throughout the year. Guest access The master bedroom with the en-suite is all yours! The sitting room and kitchen are available to you too - just note that I potter in and out for tea/coffee etc during my work day. The room at the front of the flat (door off the corridor) and the bathroom off the sitting room are mine so if you would use your en-suite, I'd appreciate that. During your stay I'm normally here to meet you and to show you around the flat. I know and love the area so am very happy to answer all/any Qs that I can. This flat is my home and I work from here too so whilst I'm really happy for you to make yourselves comfortable, a gentle reminder that I'm here too! As a working writer who is more than likely chasing a deadline, I keep myself to myself in my small office at the front of the flat but I am always on hand physically or if not on site, via phone, should you need anything.
