A Stone’s Throw is perfectly situated for exploring Totnes and the beautiful South Hams area. We are less than 5 minutes walk from the castle, high street, river and market, and also less than 5 minutes walk from Totnes train station. Perfect for a car-free break! The space -One double bedroom with small wardrobe, mirror, radio and beautiful feature stained-glass window -One bathroom with electric shower, basin, toilet -Open plan living space with comfy sofa/sofabed, cosy window seat, smart tv -Open plan area leads into kitchen/dining space fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, nespresso machine, cooking and dining utensils, sink area and worktop -Small outdoor space for guests to use with outdoor bench and hammock chair -Washing machine with dryer is available (shared with us) in the conservatory next to the AirBnB -Paid parking available close by in station or town car parks. Free on-street parking on Sundays, and 6pm to 9am all other days -Travel cot, high chair, toys and children’s kitchenware available A Stone’s Throw is suitable for 2 adults, or a family with 1 child. Totnes and the local area -Totnes is a thriving and buzzy town with a great high street, in a beautiful location. On the high street you’ll find a wide range of independent shops and cafes, and some great eateries. Also the Totnes museum and cinema for a rainy day! The famous Round Robin River Dart steam train/boat/bus trip to Dartmouth and Paignton also departs from Totnes. The lovely river Dart is a stone’s throw away and you can walk along it into town, or up to the Dartington estate, just over a mile away for more cafes, shops, gardens and the deer park. There is a wild swimming spot 0.5 miles away from our house, along the access path to Dartington. -Torbay: within 20 mins drive are the excellent Torbay beaches, perfect for families, swimming and paddleboarding or a wander around Brixham or Torquay. -South Hams: within 30-40 mins drive are the stunning coast and beaches of the South Hams. Head to Salcombe or Dartmouth for picturesque towns with great seafood, or anywhere along the coast path for a stunning walk. Our favourite South Hams beaches are Bantham, Bigbury, Hope Cove and South Milton. Dartmoor: Also within 20-30 mins drive is South Dartmoor. Head up onto the moor for wilder, more rugged terrain and walks. Watch out for the ponies! We are situated within a restricted parking zone. We can send information about the car parks which are very close. Alternatively trains are direct from London (2hr 45) and many other major cities. You can easily visit many local destinations such as Salcombe, Dartmouth, Paignton, Teignmouth, Exeter and Plymouth by bus or train. Other things to note NOTE: A Stone’s Throw is the basement of our family home. It is a period property with wooden floors and we have a primary school age daughter-you will hear us moving around upstairs when we are at home. It is separated from the main house by an internal staircase and locked door. It has it’s own separate entrance via the garden. PARKING: We are in a restricted parking zone. You can park in the street on Sundays, and 6pm to 9am. The station car park is just over the road and is £7.20 for 24hrs. North Street car park is a few mins walk away, council car park using PayByPhone app. Please do not park in the alley next to our house-this is all used by residents.
