Alternatively, head to the coast for stunning beaches, or visit our welcoming village pubs, a short walk away. At home, relax with complimentary prosecco in front of the roaring open fire, or enjoy the sun in our walled garden. Cook a feast on the range cooker in our well-equipped kitchen and sleep peacefully in our comfortable bedrooms. The space Escape to The Coach House, a picturesque and cosy cottage perfectly positioned for exploring Devon’s natural beauty. Just moments from the front door, you can stroll along the tranquil River Taw or venture onto Dartmoor’s wild moorlands for invigorating walks and breathtaking scenery. The coast is within easy reach, offering a choice of stunning beaches for days by the sea. After a day of adventure, return to the comfort of The Coach House and unwind with complimentary prosecco in front of a roaring open fire, or soak up the sunshine in the walled garden. The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a full cosy cottage experience with modern comforts. The well-equipped kitchen features an electric range with ovens and five hobs, microwave, full-sized fridge and freezer, and all the cookware and utensils you need. There’s also a washing machine and drying rack for your convenience. The dining table seats four comfortably, and extends to seat six guests using the wooden bench. In the living room, enjoy a wood burner with supplied logs and kindling, a large flat-screen TV with Freeview and streaming access, and a selection of board games and puzzles. The corner sofa converts into a sofa bed for extra guests—please let us know if you need additional bedding. French doors lead directly to the garden, where you’ll find outdoor seating for up to eight and a separate bistro table for morning coffee. Upstairs, the bedrooms offer a double bed in one room and two singles in the other, with ample storage, touch-dimmable lamps, alarm clocks, and charging points. Both rooms are equipped with hairdryers and straighteners, and one features a selection of books for all ages. The modern bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Parking is available on the gravel drive for a small car, with alternative parking on the main road just a minute’s walk away for larger vehicles. The Coach House is a welcoming retreat, ideally located to explore Devon! Nearby: Within 10 minutes walk you will find a path along the River Taw, perfect for a walk, or head up to the White Rock Hill and look out over the village. You can walk and explore for miles from here. In the village you'll find two pubs. The Taw River Inn is our favourite and serves food with a nice beer garden. The Devonshire Inn is more traditional inside and often hosts folk music nights. You'll also find a village shop with good opening hours and freshly baked goods on most days, with space to sit and have a coffee in the mornings. By car you can easily reach Okehampton with a good range of independent shops and cafes. There are plenty of tourist sights to explore in the area, from children's farm parks to castles, museums folk festivals and more! Within an hour you can be at either the North or South coast of Devon with its beautiful beaches. North Devon is quite unspoiled and rugged (Bude is our favourite beach there and Widemouth a bit further out). The South coast beaches are more commercial and busy so there's something for everyone. Guest access You have use of the whole property and garden during your stay.
