Enjoy a stylish house in a centrally-located place (near stadium). You can walk to Lake Wingra, the arboretum, Trader Joes, campus, and several restaurants. We do not allow parties at this property and do not allow guests to smoke indoors. The space About this space This is a well-maintained historic home with lots of natural light. There are hardwoods throughout. We only rent it out a few times each year (e.g., graduation, games, concerts). This property has all required state/city licenses ( ZTRHP1-2025-00011). It is in a great location -- near Camp Randall. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs. Two of the rooms have double beds and one bedroom has a twin bed. There is a fourth room (office) where we could set up a double bed blow-up mattress if someone wants their own room, if needed. There is one full bathroom upstairs. One of the bedrooms has a tv. On the main floor, there is a half bath, kitchen, large living room, dining room, and enclosed sun porch overlooking a large backyard. There is a tv in the living room. We have direct tv, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. Parking We have a parking pad on the property that can fit two cars (parking is free). Parking is hard to find in this neighborhood. Neighborhood This is one of the most desirable neighborhoods within Madison. Directly behind the house is a free Zoo (5 min walk), Vilas Park (5 min walk), Lake Wingra (7 min walk), walking trails, and the UW Arboretum (arboretum is about a 12 min walk from the house). Trader Joe’s, restaurants, bakeries, etc. are all a 5-7 minute walk away. You can walk to Camp Randall (undergraduate graduation ceremony, UW Volleyball, UW football) in about 10 minutes. You “could” walk to the Kohl Center (graduate student graduation ceremony, hockey, basketball) in about 30 minutes (or Uber in 5 minutes). State Street and the Memorial Union Terrace are about a 25-30 minute walk (or a very quick Uber). There are frequent buses on Monroe Street to the downtown area, which are very convenient too. You can walk (15-20 min) to the Sunday Farmer’s Market at Edgewood. The larger farmer’s market at the Capitol on Saturday is about a 5-7 minute Uber. Air conditioning: This house is over 100 years old and does not have duct work. We have installed mini-splits to keep the house cool. Laundry: We have laundry in the basement (where the cat usually stays), but we can give you access anytime you would like to do laundry. Yard We have a large backyard with a gas grill and 10 chairs. The yard is private/fenced. Full Disclosure: The water pressure is fine but not amazing! Also, we have a cat! We will keep the cat in a separate area of the house with us (there is a whole separate entrance) other area of the house/small apartment that we do not rent. We mention the cat because when we do not have guests, the cat roams freely throughout our whole house. Thus, if you are highly allergic to cats you might react to the cat hair even though he will be locked in a whole separate area of the house when we rent the house out. Again, we only rent out the house a few times each year (e.g., graduation/big games). We do not allow parties/gatherings on the property. We rent to 5 people at a time. There is no smoking allowed. Guest access We don't mind guests having a few friends over before a game/for graduation, etc. in our large backyard, but we do not allow any parties in the house. Sorry. We live pretty close to the stadium and people would love to have graduation/game parties at the house -- please find another option if you are looking to host a party. Other things to note Sorry. We don't allow pets. Also, remember that we only have 1.5 baths and that the 3 bedrooms have (1 double bed in bedroom 1, 1 double bed in bedroom 2, and 1 twin bed (in bedroom 3). We have an aerobed that someone could set up in the office if they want their own room. We allow 5 guests max.
