The Chevy Sleeper Tiny Home - The Hatch Farm Stay

The Chevy Sleeper is a unique tiny home with private outhouse located by a stunning river on our working farm. Sustainably built from recycled materials with beautiful rustic character, it is the perfect romantic escape, or memorable stop over on your travels. Another highlight of your stay will be interacting with our friendly farm animals. NOTE: Average physical mobility is required to navigate up to the top floor where the bed is located. The space The property is a working farm located on the stunning saltwater Maria River. We have chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, mini horses, cows, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs! There is plenty to do & see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals, casting a line, launching your boat, paddling our kayaks in the river, gaze at the stars under the moonlight, or even lighting your own outdoor campfire to warm your toes or roast a marshmallow. Guest access The Chevy Sleeper is located by the river on our working farm. Access into the Chevy Sleeper and seperate Outhouse requires good physical mobility to navigate a number of steps, including some tricker steps up onto the top floor where the bed is located. Vehicle access to the Chevy Sleeper is flat and level with a combination of grassy and gravel driveway that is off a tar sealed road. Access is available in all weather. We have plenty of room for you to park extra long vehicles. Other things to note FARM ANIMAL INTERACTIONS: ANIMAL NURSERY: We have a small animal nursery that is open to guests 9-4pm daily. Inside you will find rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, and when available - other baby farm animals (lambs, kids, calves, chicks, ducklings, and puppies). The animal nursery is located on the river side of the big green shed (the far side from the road). You are welcome to enter this area at your own leisure without a host present, as long as you follow the signed rules and directions on each gate. ANIMAL NURSERY RULES: - Kids must be supervised to ensure that they do not squeeze any babies or allow any animals to enter or escape! - Individual cages inside the nursery are not to be opened unless a host is present. Inside may be a protective mummy, or babies too small to be held yet. - No guest dogs are allowed to enter the animal nursery. - Please do not take any eggs out of the chicken lay boxes. Please contact Bernard or Susan if you would like to purchase fresh farm eggs! - Please do not feed any animals unless a host is present (only in school holidays). However, you are welcome to throw any food scraps into the chicken area! (no meat). BIGGER FARM ANIMALS: We have many adult farm animals, including goats, pigs, miniature horses, and cows. The best place to view most of these animals is from along the river edge area (on the big green shed side of the property). The horses and goats are best viewed from either side of the driveway (before you get to the two houses). Many of our large farm animals are rescues. BIGGER FARM ANIMAL RULES: - Kids must be supervised when near the fence to ensure no fingers are hanging onto the fence (pigs may bite). - Do not enter any fenced areas that have large animals in them. - You are welcome to throw the animals your scraps (no meat), but please do not feed them our supplies of food unless a host is present.
