Located in the iconic village of Cassel in the heart of Flanders, this spacious rural retreat is perfect for families, friends or professionals up to 6 guests, offering all the comfort and amenities of home in a countryside setting. The space Just 300 metres from Cassel’s central square, you can walk to the heart of the village via charming paths. On the square, enjoy typical estaminets and restaurants – including a Michelin-starred one – the Museum of Flanders, local shops, and the unique Flemish charm of this hilltop village, voted France’s Favourite Village. A magical setting: The cottage opens onto a vast private garden of 3000 m², with trees, care, and aromatic herbs for your use. A large south-facing terrace offers stunning views over the Flemish countryside – perfect for sunny breakfasts or barbecue evenings with friends. Garden furniture, parasol, barbecue... everything’s provided! Indoors, it’s all about comfort: Cosy living room with wood-burning fireplace (wood provided) and flat-screen TV. Dining area next to a fully equipped kitchen: microwave/grill, electric hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, citrus press, complete cookware and crockery. Bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, towel heater, and hairdryer. Separate WC for extra convenience. High-speed WiFi, perfect for working remotely. Sleeping arrangements: A cosy bedroom with double bed (140x200) and storage. A bright dorm-style room with 4 single beds (90x200) – ideal for children, teens, or friends. Included equipment for your comfort: Bed linen and towels Baby high chair, iron and ironing board A washing machine and dryer are available in a shared outbuilding where you can also enjoy a ping-pong table, table football and traditional Flemish games. We are also certified Accueil Vélo: you can safely store your bikes and panniers, recharge them if needed, or carry out small repairs using our repair kit. Private on-site parking This gîte is the ideal base for exploring the Flanders hills, hiking, visiting windmills, enjoying the local gastronomy or simply relaxing in a peaceful natural setting. Whether you're with family, friends, as a couple or on a professional trip, Gasthof d’Oude Schure welcomes you warmly. Unfortunately, this accommodation is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Need more space? You can rent this house together with the neighbouring gîte Haghedoornhuis on the same property, to host up to 10 people – perfect for large gatherings. Guest access Access to the accommodations will be via key boxes, allowing you to arrive independently and at your convenience. You will receive the codes a few days before your arrival, along with our digital welcome guide via a Google Drive link. If I’m around, I’d be happy to welcome you in person.
