Welcome to Casa Chakita – Your Retro Mountain Escape Nestled in the heart of the stunning Blue Mountains, Casa Chakita is your perfect 70’s-inspired retreat. With its high wooden ceilings, vibrant artwork, and vintage furnishings, this fabulous home invites you to step back in time while enjoying all the comforts of modern life. Surrounded by lush trees and located in a peaceful cul-de-sac, our home offers a serene escape just a stone’s throw from the lookout at the end of the street. The space Casa Chakita is a lovingly lived-in home, shared with you on weekends. Filled with plants, art, and unique bric-a-brac, it’s a vibrant and welcoming space stocked with everything you need to feel right at home. Snuggle up with a book in our iconic 1960’s Ball chair, or unwind in the deep, plush lounge chair, perfect for drifting off while watching your favourite shows. Enjoy morning cups of tea or afternoon cocktails seated at the charming cast iron outdoor table beneath the trees, or relax on our lovely deck, ideal for soaking up the afternoon sun with a refreshing drink. The back deck also features an additional outdoor dining setting for al fresco meals. Bask in the warm glow of flameless candles tucked into the retro fireplace, setting the scene for cosy nights of romance or shared stories. The main retro bathroom includes a relaxing bath, ideal for soaking after a day of mountain adventures. We invite you to enjoy everything during your stay, but kindly request that all items remain within the house for future guests to appreciate. If anything accidentally finds its way home with you, just let us know — we appreciate your understanding. The Neighbourhood Perfectly positioned between the Upper and Lower Blue Mountains, Casa Chakita provides a peaceful retreat close to many attractions. Wander down the street to the scenic lookout, explore local bushwalks, or visit nearby villages, galleries, and delightful boutique shops. Woodford is a favourite spot for mountain bikers, offering exciting trails and scenic rides. It’s also conveniently located a short drive away from many beautiful bushwalking trails, perfect for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers alike. Please note, due to its layout and design, Casa Chakita is not wheelchair accessible. We kindly ask you to take care with the stairs into the property, as they can be slippery when wet. There are also internal stairs and steps in the backyard. For safety reasons, we are unable to accommodate children under 5 years old. As much as we adore animals, Casa Chakita is also a pet-free home. We provide a few basics — tea, coffee, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar — to help get your stay started smoothly, as well we have a Breville Barista Express coffee machine to kickstart your morning. Local shops, cafes, and bakeries, including the much-loved Black Cockatoo Bakery in Lawson, are just a short drive away for anything else you might need. We typically offer stays between Thursday and Monday, but if you’re looking for additional days, just reach out — we’re happy to chat about availability. We look forward to welcoming you to our special mountain haven! Guest access Casa Chakita has two bedrooms available for guests, each equipped with a comfortable queen bed. (Please note that an additional bedroom is kept locked for storage). The primary bedroom overlooks serene bushland and has a private balcony, offering a front-row seat to picturesque sunrises. You’ll have full access to all other areas of the home, including all living areas, bedrooms, outdoor decks, and garden spaces. Additionally, there’s a double sofa bed on the mezzanine level that can be prepared upon request. We can also provide an extra camp bed suitable for a child or teen if needed—please let us know in advance. The mezzanine level also includes a dedicated office work area for guests who need a quiet space to work. Other things to note About Your Hosts 
 Casa Chakita is the beloved home of Charlie and Nikita – a creative couple who split their time between Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Charlie is a DJ and music curator who performs at events and festivals across Australia and overseas, while Nikita is a visual artist and homewares designer behind the cult brand Doodad + Fandango. Together, they've lovingly curated Casa Chakita over the past four years, infusing it with bold style, vintage charm, and personal flair.
