Shrenbute Cottage in Tandi | Lahaul

Breakfast included. We built Shrenbute Cottage in the hamlet of Sumnam near Tandi first as a summer escape, now to share with kindred wanderers. It offers views of valleys, glaciers, the Chandra-Bhaga confluence, and the monasteries of Guru Ghantal and Tupchiling. A short walk reveals Keylong’s panorama, nearby trails and farms invite unhurried hikes and quiet wonder. Whether you're looking for adventure or a quiet corner of the world to stay in, this is a space that lets you simply be. The space Nestled along a wide 7-metre road, Shrenbute Cottage offers easy access and free on-site parking. Though the cottage sits by the road, you'll find the atmosphere calm, quiet, and deeply peaceful. Shrenbute Cottage as a whole has 3 bedrooms and 1 dormitory and can host up to 12 guests at a time. There's high speed Wi-Fi available throughout the cottage and continuous hot water for your comfort. We also have a fully-functional kitchen where you can request meals and snacks till 9 pm. Please do visit the amenities section for everything we offer. Guests have access to two shared living and dining areas: 1. Living Room 1 is perfect for reading or simply relaxing. It features a curated library, including books on Lahauli culture, heritage, and history. 2. Living/Dining Room 2 offers a traditional Lahauli experience with a warm indoor fireplace stove, locally known as a Tandoor. A shared balcony offers another lovely spot to unwind and take in the crisp mountain air and panoramic views. There are also open outdoor lounging areas throughout the premises - perfect for lounging and soaking in the mountain air. The charm of Shrenbute Cottage extends far beyond its walls. There are infinite open spaces around the property, with sprawling farmland, scenic walking paths, and quiet spots to just sit and breathe. The surrounding hills and trails offer beautiful opportunities for short treks and nature walks. Our tiny village has only 5–7 houses, which means there’s hardly anyone around. You’ll enjoy a rare kind of privacy and solitude - a true retreat from the world. On a lucky day, you might spot herds of majestic Ibex or catch a glimpse of a Himalayan Red Fox or a Himalayan Marmot nearby. Shrenbute Cottage is in Tandi area of central Lahaul.
