Tucked away along a quiet country lane on the edge of The Somerset Levels is The Shippon. Adjacent to the coast and within close reach of The Mendip Hills AONB, it offers the perfect opportunity for walking, hiking and cycling. A destination for nature lovers and bird watchers with easy access to Brent Knoll, Brean Down and The Quantocks. Historic Bath and Wells, Glastonbury and Bristol are all close by, so there is plenty to see and do when not relaxing in your home away from home. The space With its playful vintage feel, The Shippon is a welcoming and homely retreat ideal any month of the year. Perfect for couples, this self-catering cottage offers all you need to relax and unwind. We are conveniently located a short drive from the M5 motorway junction and just 30 minutes from Bristol Airport. The cottage has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area as well as a separate bedroom with kingsize bed and views across private fields. The ensuite bathroom includes a bath and shower as well as fresh towels and toiletries. Smart TV with access to any of your own streaming service subscriptions is located in the main living area. Guest access Access to The Shippon is along a private driveway and is situated within the grounds of Lower Wick Farm, an 18th century traditional Somerset farm house. The Shippon is a self-contained ground floor cottage. There is a private garden with a patio and outdoor seating for alfresco dining. There is plenty of private parking and all laundry facilities are availbale on site in a separate laundry room. Other things to note Pets We would love to welcome your furry friends - We kindly ask that they are kept off the furniture and away from livestock, as there are sheep in our fields and we live next to a dairy farm. Amenities We are close to the traditional seaside town of Weston-super-Mare with its pleasure pier and miles of sandy beaches. There is also easy access to Cheddar Gorge, Clevedon, Frome and many other picturesque Somerset villages. Local pubs and eateries offering carveries, Sunday lunches and romantic dinners for two are all in the vicinity. The Bakehouse at Wick Farm, Rich’s Cider Farm, restaurant and deli and The Queens Arms in Bleadon are all highly recommended and within a short drive. Swimming, spa and beauty facilities are available at The Webbington Hotel and Spa, a 15 minute drive away.
