Description
A cosy one bedroom apartment with outdoor hot tub and spectacular sea views. Located in a quiet crofting village only 9 miles from Stornoway, this is a great base to explore the islands from. This self contained basement apartment is underneath our family home. The apartment is powered by onsite micro-hydro renewable energy and we are a net exporter of energy. #northshorecroft The space The apartment is self-contained with its own entrance and is on the lower floor of our home. Guests have use of a private hot tub and patio area with outdoor table and bench and BBQ. This compact but cosy basement apartment has one bedroom (king size bed plus bunks) one bathroom and an open kitchen diner / living room. Guest access The apartment has its own private access and the hot tub is for your personal use. The driveway down to the basement is steep so you will have to be a fairly confident driver if you want to reverse down to the patio, otherwise you can park on our driveway and walk down but you should be aware this last section is on a slope and the surface is rough chippings. Other things to note Well behaved dogs (2 max) are welcome. We do not charge guests an additional fee or cleaning bill for use of the hot tub however guests should be aware that use of the hot tub is not guaranteed with the booking and should view it as a ‘bonus feature’. We work hard to keep it clean, operational and available to guests throughout their stay but there may be instances when it is not available e.g. mechanical fault... this has not happened to date we feel you should be aware of the possibility. Additionally, it takes 24 hrs to heat after a refill so dependant on the changeover dates, you may not be able to use it in the first night of your arrival while it is heating up. The patio area is not enclosed and there is a small drop (1-2m) to a rocky slope in front of it, so it may be unsuitable for young children, particularly if left unsupervised. The driveway to the house is a rough track off the main road with a moderately steep section at the base. Once you are at our house there is another rough track sloping down to the apartment which is narrow with a twist at the top. If you would like direct vehicle access to the patio you will need to reverse down this last section otherwise you are welcome to park on our level and walk the last 15 metre section down to the apartment, please be aware however that this last section is sloping and surfaced with rough chippings.
