Moore's Landing a Historic Riverfront Estate

Step into history. Wake up to the Mississippi. Moore's Landing is no ordinary retreat. Built in 1940 by Fred Moore, one of Anoka's most influential citizens, this magnificent Cape Cod estate has stood watch over 120 ft of Mississippi River frontage for more than eight decades. From the moment you arrive, the rolling lawn sweeps you down toward the river, where the Mississippi moves quietly past. Inside, a breathtaking view through a 16 foot glass door, framing the river like a living painting. The space Spread across a lush half-acre lot, this home offers the rare combination of historic character and refined comfort. The nearby Rice Street beach was once where kids took swimming lessons. The neighborhood is called Whiskey Flats. During Prohibition, Whiskey Flats became known as a place where people could obtain alcohol, with the area being a hub for rum runners who brought in alcohol from the Mississippi River. Today the river hosts concerts at Mississippi crossings in Champlin on Thursdays. There is live music, a playground, food trucks and an ice cream shop! On Wednesdays, Anoka hosts live music on the Rum River, along with numerous summer events. Anoka is also the Halloween capital of the world! The month of October is filled with fun activities. Guest access You will have the entire home to yourself, including access to the washer and dryer. The home will be accessed through a key code specific to your booking. The dock and boat slip are now in and ready for use, many local companies that rent pontoons and jet ski’s. Other things to note Guests & Occupancy: Moore's Landing is a place for making memories with the people you love most. Children are warmly welcomed and the rolling lawn and river views make it a magical setting for families of all ages. Four legged friends: Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Moore's Landing! We simply ask that pets are kept off the furniture, never left unattended indoors, and always supervised near the riverfront. Gatherings: Small gatherings and celebrations are welcome. This historic estate makes a stunning backdrop for intimate dinner parties, milestone birthdays, or a quiet family reunion. We ask that all events remain respectful of the property and the neighbors. House Rules NO smoking indoors-smoking outside only and all materials fully disposed of. Quiet Hours from 10pm-8am Please be mindful of neighbors and the peaceful river setting. Dogs welcome Please clean up after your pet on the lawn and near the riverfront. Riverfront Safety Guests assume responsibility near the water; please supervise children and pets at all times near the river's edge. NO DIVING from the dock, the water is too shallow. Small gatherings welcome No large parties or events for guests who are not registered without prior approval and additional fees do apply.
