Other things to note Svortevik Kystgard – a place with soul and history. The farm dates back to the early 1800s, carrying the history of many generations. After standing untouched for decades, time has left its mark – the buildings have known both weather and wind, and bear the mark of decay. Now we are in the process of giving the farm new life, step by step, with respect for the old and a love for the real. The process will take time, but we still want to open up and share the space with those of you who appreciate historical charm, tranquility and authentic surroundings. With us you will not find the polished and modern – but you will find atmosphere, nature and a unique experience. Animal keeping: We have two female cats who keep a house with us, so be aware if you have allergies. The town has a great location between fjords and mountains, and is known for its scenic surroundings. Florø is the westernmost town in Norway and is located on the coast, with proximity to the sea and many islands. The city is an important fishing port and a central hub for the seafood industry. Suggestions for attractions nearby: Stakaldeneset- This is a historic area that has served as an early industrial community. Here mining was operated with diabas – a stone species that was used to make utensils in the Stone Age. The area, which stretches over about 600 meters, was discovered by amateur archaeologist Svein Brandsøy in 1978. The findings showed that the quarry had an extensive significance, and the stone wrecks from the mining indicate that the material was in circulation along the entire Vestland and Trøndelag coast for more than 8000 to 9000 years. Stakaldeneset is today an important cultural monument that testifies to Norway's oldest industrial community and provides a unique insight into prehistoric mining and settlement along the coast. Stakaldneset is located in Sandvik, which is 2 km from Nytingnes. The rock carvings in Ausevik- Between Eikefjord and Stavang in Kinn municipality is one of Norway's largest rock carving fields. The field has over 300 figures from the Bronze Age (about 3000 years old), including animals, people, boats, and geometric patterns. The rock carvings provide insight into the life and faith of the people of the time. The area is accessible for visitors with parking space, footpaths and information posters. It is beautifully located by Høydalsfjorden, approx. 20 minutes drive from Nyttingnes. Suggestions on nice hiking trails nearby: Eikefjordstølen- Eikefjordstølen is known for its great location and views of the village and the fjord. Stølen is a popular hiking destination, and there is a marked path up from the rest area at Rv5 in Eikefjord. The trip goes past Bjønnamyra and Kleivane before reaching the farm. Hovlandstølen- Hovlandstølen is located west of Eikefjordstølen and is also a popular hiking destination. The path from Eikefjordstølen to Hovlandstølen goes west and is well marked. From Hovlandstølen you can go to Kvalvikstølane. Håsteinen: is a mountain massif for Høydalsfjorden in Kinn municipality. The massif consists of two main peaks: the western known as Høydalsnipa or Ytste Håsteinen, which is at 933 meters above sea level and the southern cold Inste Håsteinen, which is 964 meters above sea level. Between these peaks, Håsteinsvatnet is 752 meters above sea level. For hikers, there are several routes to the peaks.
